Default Looking for product demand: Wheel spacer and extended wheel studs

I'm interested to know whether there is a demand in wheel spacers and extended wheel studs to be sold as a kit for Civics, Integras, and any other cars you may think of.

I'd like to know if there are wheel clearance issues that some may have. For example: using Civic Si or Integra GSR rims on an older Civic that only ran 14" steelies. Or anything to that extent.

There will be a production run of these kits 'by the enthusiast, for the enthusiast.'

The spacers will be made from aluminum and steel initially. With time, other materials will be introduced. Spacers will also include a couple of features that no other spacers have. These features will not be made public until the production is made and sales have begun.

As far as pricing, I see it retailing between $50 and $70 for a kit of 16 studs and 4 spacers.

Who is interested? What does everyone think of price? I need to know what kind of demand I'm dealing with. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Sounds like a good price for a set of spacers, but you'll probably want a few things:

Hubcentric application w/4x100 bolt pattern
Machined level surfaces, lightened and balanced with sections of the spacer being removed, similar to the out of production z-speed lightweight spacers.
Varied sizes, 3mm, 5mm, etc.

Done.

Done, save for the balancing. I dont think I can promise that. Eitherway, I expect them to be very light and any out of balance sections will be so minut as to be neglegable.

Ok.

Whether they will hold up to the challenge? I cannot say for sure. I can say that they are OE replacement studs--I do not make them myself. I can also say that they are as strong as stock. Your axles will most likely snap before the studs do. I will also say that they arent being sold specifially for drag racing applications. Whether that is what you chose to use them for is up to you.

I will be giving out a few sets to have them tested. Perhaps you'd like to be a tester?

The 'splines' on the wheel studs that align them to the hub, are they the same as stock?

Yes. They will fit and align just right. But just like the other manufacturer like Skunk2 and H&R, I will suggest welding them.

something else to point out, is that this will allow people to run wider tires/wheels. The extra width may also help with those who like turns. Seems like a good idea to me. I'd have to know what the extra features are before I'd make any kind of decesion however. As to whether to go with these or a big company like H&R...

Spacers will obviously provide a wider track and allow some people to wider wheels/tires because it corrects for the wheel offet problem. Most likely, the wheel has too great an offset, and the inside of the tire rubs. It's not going to help anyone that's got their car on a significantly lowered suspension and is having problems with rubbing on the outer side of the fenderwell.

Interested...keep me/us posted on costs and available widths. I'm putting 16x7.5 w/225s on and I believe that I'll need spacers, maybe something in the 15-25mm range. If you can beat the $120 for the H&Rs I'd be interested.
