####interior civic coupe questions
1. I wanted to replace the fabric on my sunroof on my 99 civic Si. Does anyone know how to remove it?
2. I broke my hood latch that opens my hood, so I bought the the complete cable and latch. Can any give me a quick step-by-step on replacing this?
3. Can I buy that $5 block off plate and just replace my antenna cover without disturbing its efficiency of reception?
4. Can gsr rear seats fit in the back of a 00 civic coupe? If not what options do I have to put black leather rear seats in my coupe?
yes. I already tried searching. useful comments please. thanks in advance.

2.) It should be pretty simple once you start popping stuff off and unbolting. BTW, it will most likely break again.
3.)yes you can get the block off plate, but you won't be able to listen to the radio (which sucks anyways). Theres a company that sells little antenna type things that go near your rear-view mirror. Its like a little black box with two small antennas sticking out. You can go with that. THey are also supposed to give better reception. Of course you can always just replace the oem antenna.

1. You're going to have to drop the headliner to remove and replace it. I believe much of the assembly might have to come out in order to get the sun shield out, since it actually sits inside of part of the moonroof assembly.
2. Remove front bumper and driver's fender liner (at least partially). Remove kick panel that surrounds interior hood pull. Loosen the latch on the front of the car and remove the pin that holds the cable to the latch. You'll have to unclip the clips along the core support that hold the cable on too. Then bring the entire hood cable back out through the interior. Unloop it from the front first of course. Installation is the reverse.
3. Yes, you can buy the plate. If you can sink the antenna down into the a-pillar it will work about as well as not extending your antenna.

Actually; it wont really work at all because its not grounded anymore. The vehicle extends the antenna through the chassis ground. And when you bolt it down; it grounds it. So it will work basically horrible; If at all.

I've pulled that top piece (the black plastic piece) of the antenna up before and never saw a ground.
I had to pull it up a bit in order to mask it off for detailing.
I'm not sure if the antenna would fit in the a-pillar if there were a cap over top of it though, which is what the OP seems to be asking about. Had he meant to remove the antenna, I would have expected him to mention that (since removal of the antenna would affect how the radio would work more than capping the antenna off).

Agreed.
Here is a TSB showing the ground strap under the antenna base:

Here's how much you have to do.
I could have sworn when I was looking into this years back (I have sun damage on my shade) that you had to drop the headliner, but it still looks like a pain in the ***.

#2. When we got our Civic the release looked just like yours as well as many others.
Rather then replacing with another one that would break again I turned a handle out of aluminum that set screws to the broken part. Sorry can't help with the replacing the stock one. Just giving you another idea if you have the means to a lathe or a buddy in that field :D

I think it'd be great if someone made replicas of the stock handle out of aluminum or something less likely to break like the stock plastic handle.
I'd only want one if it looked stock though.

The handles always break off EK hood latches, do what most pple w/ EK's and broken hood latches in my area do and what I'll do once mine breaks - lock a pair of those small *** needle-nose vice grips on it...nobody's gonna be looking down there anyways.
The cable's cheap, only like 20 bux - but it'll break again - they always do.
As fro the antenna, pull it out a little, and cut the tip off with a pair of cutting dykes - your reception will go down a bit (not really a lot though), but it will go down a lot more when you stick it in there and put the plastic plate over it.

Yes that would be cool if someone would mass produce them. I made that with what I had laying around.
I'd need deminsions of a stock one and an image as well as a larger piece of aluminum to match one.
This has gotten me by for now :D
I'll have to look into it now that you mention it. Not in mass quantities though. I just did it during lunch time at work hehe.

I think I might have a broken handle end here somewhere. I have a new cable too, so I could measure the entire length of the "stalk" that goes onto the cable.
If you could make them, or someone else could, you could include directions for removing the rest of the stock plastic piece (they often seem to leave a chunk on the cable) and installing the new one.

Re: (NOFX)
In my old civic the handle was broken off, enough was left I could pinch hard enough to get it to come.
If you have a decent grip it's feasible, and isn't as ghetto as vicegrips.

My latch is messed up (thus why my new cable isn't installed yet). Something is making it so the latch is tighter than it should be, but the latch also doesn't right itself. Meaning the little pin in the latch that holds the end of the cable in, the latch doesn't spring that pin back to where it should be, which means I have to often manually reset it by sticking a finger down into the latch and moving it back so the hood will lock. Otherwise the hood sits up about an inch and is shaky.
So I have to use vice grips or else it won't pop. It's that tough. Eran can't even open mine without the vice grips, but he could open his without them (before he replaced his),
My cable has broken twice already and Eran's has broken once. He has replaced his and I replaced mine once, but I think I'm going to hold out to get my latch looked at by Honda and possibly replaced by them too (warranty) before I replace the hood cable.

I think you need Integra sedan rear seats to best fit in there. I personally don't trust rear seats from other models because I doubt they'd fit completely stock, and it'd get to me personally. Lots of other people are happy with theirs though.
You could always just get the rear seats reupholstered too. Then you could make them match whichever front seats you decide to put in.
EP3 front seats I think are similar to RSX seats, which can be put into 5th and 6th gens... but thus far I haven't seen a SAFE looking installation.

Yeah, 3-door GSR rear seats will not fit into your coupe. They fit into hatches with a little modification, but not coupes.

4. what options do I have to put black leather rear seats in my coupe? ej's, eg's, dc's, rsx's? Around how much does fabrication cost? Can ep3 front seats fit in a 00 coupe?
