Inspection, orange bulbs
Please help, need to find a place that sells orange turn signal bulbs for the front. Called around my area and no place sells them. Many thanks for positive info.

Re: Inspection, orange bulbs
Like I said every place I've called, advanced, auto parts warehouse etc., all they sell are clears. The reflectors in the stock housing are amber, not the bulbs.

...do you have some clear corners on your car or something?
the walmart by me has what i call "light bulb condoms" and its basically just a colored cover for the bulb. same effect. no ghetto sharpie, or waiting for paint to dry.
sorry i just found it hard to believe that no one has them. seems like they should be easier to find. if everyone told me that, i would be like "did you really check?!@"

Re: Inspection, orange bulbs
There are no stores in your area that sell amber/orange 1157 bulbs?
I guess you could go to your local craft store and get transparent orange spray paint.

i wasn't asking you, i was asking the OP.
NO ONE CARES HOW JDM YOU ARE. why would you even say that? the OP is trying to pass a car inspection. he is looking for a way to make sure he doesn't fail for something stupid like the color of his turn signals. i think he is looking for a $6 pick up down the street fix. not getting amber corner lights.

lol last thread, i was trying to tell someone off for bashing the OP about what kind of motor he had. then you called me an idiot because you can't read and thought i quoted you or something.
if you are just quoting to quick reply, there is a nice little box on the bottom
btw didn't jump down your throat last time. i was just correcting you, this time i jumped down your throat because it was two times now in like 2 minutes.

Re: Inspection, orange bulbs
whoa! whoa! thought this thread was finished.
The stock headlights I used to have had clear bulbs which I reused for the Depo ones I bought.
Yes I called around places in my area and every place said they only had clear bulbs. Thats why I posted here cause I know that there are places that do.
Didn't know about the "condom cover" thing at walmart.
All I need is something to get me through inspection gheto or not. I'm going right back to clears cause I've had them on for 4 months now and haven't had any problems with cops.

OP
do you have clear corners on the car?
i am trying to think what color the stock corners would emit with a clear bulb. i would assume it would still be orange. i might be wrong though, how ever as long as you aren't using some crazy super white (blue) bulb then it should look normal.
i always thought the corners had reflective amber/orange to them and thats what gave off the color to the light.
sleeper
i didn't confuse nada i've been around for a while i know how an internet forum works. good call tho

Re: Inspection, orange bulbs
For all you guys asking about clear corners.
96-98 and i believe 99-00 civic front turn signals used the 3496 bulb. which all came clear. but you can swap them out for 1156 or 1157 bulb. The difference is that the 3496 has an oval shape to the bulb lense, but the 1156 and 57 have a round circular shape. They all use the same base and work fine.
And the 1156 and 57 bulbs do come in amber. buy those. they work, i have them on my car.
And you don't have to buy both 1157 and 56, i just remember which base has the notches that are the same as the 3496.

Re: Inspection, orange bulbs
Oh, the corners on my depo headlights are like gunmetal. I'm sure in some states it would pass cause it's got like a copper tinged flash. But don't think it will in my state. I would post a link to a pic of them but searched and don't think they sell those exact ones anymore. The reflectors are like a copper gunmetal and the rest of the housing is black.

Re: Inspection, orange bulbs
a store like walmart and target sell those bulbs.
any auto store in your area should have it. Go to the store and actually look for the bulb instead of calling it in. These bulbs you are looking for are OEM bulbs and all auto store SHOULD have them in stock.
