Default Inline fuel pump help!

Hi,

I plan on boosting my 96' civic, d16y4 engine.
I am expecting to get flamed for this as I have done my research and seen peoples reactions as soon as an "FMU" is mentioned, but I guess i'll take the risk..
Basically my question is, if I am planning to run 7psi using an 8:1 FMU obviously I need to purchase an inline fuel pump as the in tank oem pump will not be able to keep up with the added fuel pressure (from what I understand the calculation for the fuel pressure would be 8x7, which is 56psi) from the FMU.

What I would like to know is would I need an inline pump that is specifically for "high pressure" or would a regular 255lph inline pump be fine for this application?

thanks.

Do some more reading.
I think you're gong to get flamed because you have no idea what you're talking about.

The stock pump can handle 56 PSI. It's internally regulated to 75 PSI.

Because A) you're running an FMU rather than a proper tune, and B) you don't seem to understand all of the consequences of just "turning up the pressure". Fuel doesn't really work that way, which is why no one in their right mind uses an FMU anymore. Add in the fact that I already handed you, and you now have three reasons why you don't know what you're talking about.

I understand that turning up the fuel pressure in order to achieve more fuel puts stress on the system.. pump and injectors etc
In saying that, yes I am quite new to the whole "turbo" thing but i have read and some people seem to say running an fmu up to 7psi maximum "works" but is not ideal..
I have also heard of people running a chipped ecu and 440cc injectors? I guess tuning isn't really an option for me because I purely don't have access to it, so I'm looking for a reliable alternative, that's all.

Stop with this "I heard" nonsense. GO read up and educate yourself so that you KNOW. Wherever you're getting this information is not a reliable or accurate source. If this is something you've cobbled together in your own head, you need to go back to the drawing board.
