When i move out and need a beater, i want to get a Mk. 2 Diesel Jetta and fix up the exterior a bit, drop it, and chip it.

Yea I realised the pic didn't come up, I'll fix that. The Hatch is going to get a vtec B series, likely b18c1... its going to get koni/GC's and everything integra in terms of suspension and brakes. (I geuss engine too) Its really a daily driver/track *****.

My 94 Chevy S10 beater:

When I bought it, it was all beat up - rust, dents, blown suspension - all kinds of problems. It had a clean interior, so over the summer last year I decided to fix it up a little. Just doing it a little at a time...

I built my car to be a driver first and foremost, but honestly it gets driven rarely in the summer because I've got a bike and my beater has ice cold A/C.

Also I never park my "real" car where I cannot see it. This means it's in my home garage with a padlock on the inside of the door, or else it's in plain view of me at all times.

At work?

My car sits in an open stall in the shop right by my service desk.

At the movies or at dinner?

Doesn't happen, car stays home.

Running errands?

I plan ahead and don't take that car.

Trust me when you're done building something that you want to keep forever, you won't drive it nearly as much as you think you would.

So what's your "real" car then, because it looks to me like you might be a bit confused on what this topic's about. It's about your actual beater/daily driver that you have so you don't have to drive your "real" modded car if you don't want to.

I mean I could post all about my B18C5 CX hatch, but that's not what this topic is about.

oh my other car is a 2002 GMC Sierra 3500 Dually. it has the 8.1L gas engine and gets 8mpg, so i can't really afford to drive it instead of the honda.

I have never modded my beater. Although it is due for some work as I am having an idle problem. The only thing different is the battery which of course should be changed since it is a:
'92 Chevy S-10 4.3L V6 (One of the best engines GM ever built )
139,500 miles

Still modding the project though...

well I guess the best way to avoid the temptation of modding anything besides your project car is to not get a honda/acura.......... well I guess i shouldnt have gotten a civic but its easy to fix and the gas mileage is good......

My DD remains mostly untouched, it is a 91 Toyota Turdcel. I changed out the cluster so that I could have a tach and put in a deck and a sub otherwise it remains stock no rims only hubcaps I waste far to much money on the Hatch to put money in the turd. I would like to ditch the tercel though and get another Honda eg hatch for a DD my toyota sucks.

I'm broke so neither my beater or my "good" car have any mods really worth mentioning

My EK has an aluminum air filter (it's an OEM extra) which did help the torque a bit. I'm keeping this bone stock.

My Sol has a rebuilt y8 with z6 peripherals. Compression has been raised a tad. I'm not spending anything for motor mods cause I have a 2 year plan for a good swap.
