Default Heistation

Hey guys, I need your help once again. please no negative comments.

My engine is having some hesitation problems. Its a d16y8 with a y7 head. Runs good until you take it over 4k rpm. The car pulls all the way up to 7k in any gear but after you take it past 4k and come to a stop the car idles real low and start to have hesitation when accelerating like it has a bad tps sensor this only happens until you get it past 3.5-4k rpms then it doesn't hesitates and pulls hard up until 7k. When You turn the car off after this happens, the car turns on and when the rpms come down they fall flat on their face and the car dies. You have to turn the car on and keep your foot on the gas to keep it from dieing. After you keep it alive it stays on and drives normal until you take it past 4k rpm again. If you do not take it past 4k the car feels normal with no hesitation. It only hesitates in low rpms after you take it over 4k rpms. It never hesitates over 4k rpms. It just gives hesitation in low rpms after you take it over 4k unless you turn the car off and turn it back on and keep it alive by holding the gas for a bit.

Why did you put a Y7 head on that engine? Just curious?

You're right, it does sound like a TPS issue.
Have you looked at anything at all yet? Inspec your TPS and throttle area for anything bent or cracked or loose.
Do the normal 101 checks first. Make sure spark is good, make sure fuel is flowing, make sure there are no vacuums.
I'm assuming you have no CEL.

Also is this manual or auto?

Thanks for the advice. Sorry for the late post. I have been busy and broke. Reason I put a y7 head on a y8 block was because the y7 head was machined and resurfaced and I didnt not have time to machine and resurface it. I am still having this issue. I re-calibrated the TPS and still the same symptoms. I will start with the 101 check first and then check back thanks.

also the car is a manual, and no I do not have a CEL at all. I am thinking its a ECU issue because the ECU might be telling my the motor to go into Vtec but the head is non vtec so it probably throws it into some kind of loop. I will also get the proper ECU for my set-up
