Default Heat shield question?

hey guys i have a 95 civic with a d16y8 and among other mods i have a short ram air intake....my question is have any of you seen any results where the car benefits from a intake filter heat shield. And not results like what the companies tell you but have you guys felt anything or seen results from a dyno.

Thanks guys,
Matt
