Both civics are going to be slow. Not so slow as to be boring, but slow either way. I like the hatch because everyone and their mom has a coupe. I don't know how it is in your area, but i'm original with my hatch in My town.

I like the hatch too because of more storage space, looks, and plain gas mileage. Once you get whatever you get, save money. Read and live here learning and researching what you want to do to your car if you want to mod it.

^ That's one of the best/most sensible pieces of advice anyone could give you for getting into the tuner/honda world.

Hatch or coupe? well 2 friends of mine have one, one has a coupe the other has a hatch. body wise you'd do better getting a hatch cuz the body is lighter and i think if you can make the exterior body clean then it'd look even better. go with a coupe if you have a few friends (2 or 3) that you usually go with. personally i'd go with the hatch =D

that is the truth ..

Overall its probably what you can find in your area. I say get the better car as in what you find. Dont pass up a good coupe for some ragged out hatch(Im not saying every hatch is ragged out Im just trying to make a point)

Lol, calm down kid. Do you have a job? or is mommy paying for all this? Trust me, I wasted way too much dough spending money on what I didn't end up really wanting.

Do what I do, when i really want something i take my credit card (which is in a big jar of water) and let it thaw, I watch it thaw thinking about whether or not I really want what I'm going to get. I usually only do this for anything over $300.

Hatch is great for hauling crap plus it's lighter. i like my Hatch more than my coupe, for 2 reasons. 1. My 96 hatch has a B16 swapped into into it. Much better than the Z6 in my 95 EX. 2. My 95 is wrecked anyway so I definately like a drivable car more than a non- driveable one.

A coupe is great if you want the extra crap like power windows, locks, etc. Plus they are made in the U.S. so if some douchebag Chrysler or GM fan comes up to you and disses your car for being an Import you can point at your VIN and say "made in the USA unlike your mexican made POS". (My mom's 03 PT Cruiser was made in Mexico while my 95 Coupe and my dad's 98 Toyota Tacoma were made in the U.S.) Hatches are usaully Canadian though. My 96 is.

My vote would most definately be for hatch if you don't care about power stuff. Brakes are the only thing powered on mine. I've got Armstrong power steering and windows .

If you gotta have power stuff then get an EX Coupe.

take note, it's not hard at all to add power locks and windows. Mirrors aren't that big of a deal. They shouldn't move around too much anyway.

Well, there's a few variables. One of them being handling. The coupe has slightly better handling than the hatch due to the longer wheel base, this also aids in spinning out, a shorter wheel base (the hatch) can send you into a spin easier than a coupe (longer wheel base). As far as weight goes the hatch is like 200lbs lighter or some crap like that.

Basically it comes down to preference, which one you like more. If I were you (which I'm not) I would buy the coupe only because it's a lot safter in regards to handling and you're a new driver. It's also bigger if you get into an accident which will help you.

In the end it's up to you. Neither a coupe nor a hatch is fast stock, you're going to have to upgrade if you want fast. Either by motor swap or boosting it (turbo/supercharger).

Personally. I like the 92-95 hatch better, though I own a coupe. I really don't think the 96+ hatches are aesthetically appealing. I only like the 92-95 hatches better based on appearance. Though a coupe is better when it comes to handling and such. Like I said, it's basically all preference. I'd recommend a coupe to you because whether you think you're Mario Andretti or not the truth be told you ARE an UNSKILLED driver - just like me in respect to age (I'm just about 19 though) --- Point being is you should just try to learn how to drive first before you try building your first rice rocket.
