Default Ground Control coilover problem

today i got to raise my car up so i start with the left side. To my amaze ment and loosin the the screw AND taking the screw out, the adjuster disk thing would not move freely. So i spray it wit water then WD40 and i get the same results. Finally i get desperate and the side to take a screw driver and harmer it into the groves in the direction of up which did move it while i was hammering wit but after that it would still not move freely by hand. So then i decide to give up on the wheel and try the right side and to my surprise again, i had the same results as the previous side repeating the same steps. Only thing that I can tell u all is that i have just recently gotten an engine swap,( but right after i got it i was still able to adjust the coilovers), and that its colder now, and frankly my alinment has been off real bad since i got the car back. If anyone can make any sense of this and tell me what to do then please help.

You mean the collar that goes around the threaded sleeve? Do you feel any grit in it? Somtimes dirt can sieze it up; so you have the right idea with WD40. Try prying the opening apart a little once you remove the pinch bolt.

I had trouble adjusting mine too, so i ordered a $3 spanner wrench from Ground-Control. Problem solved.

I use brake cleaner first and brush all the threads in the direction you plan on going. After it is all clean i use a penetrating lube like PB blaster and, like everyone said spread the ring if it is a clamp type adjusting ring. The plastic brush and blow gun @ 100psi is key.

Last time I use a flat screwdriver to turn the collar up and down, but instead of hammer it down I use two tool (flat screwdrivers) to act like a adjuster ranch!! it work for me, give it a try.
Looks like it needs a dust cover or some sort.

Get some gloves and use some strength. They are usually a bitch to turn, but after some WD-40 and a little elbow, I always get it going.
