ground control coilover kit any good?

its just for daily driver, street kinda thing.

also ill be having my stock shocks for now until i get more mula to get some koo shocks..

am i getting ok coilovers? is it worth it?

imo ground control is the best slip on coilovers you can get, but I would wait until you can get the shocks, especially if you plan on dropping it a couple inches

a few inches shouldn't hurt you stock shocks that bad....

-think about it this way: the faster you blow you shocks the faster you'll find some MULA to get some koo shocks...j/k

i think you'll b ok with GC on stock shocks...just don't slam it

Whatever you do, don't cheap out on suspension. To this day I wish I never got my ebay coilovers. They ride like ****. Save up and buy the ground controls and koni shock setup. This is a tried and true suspension setup as you probably know. I'd wait for the shocks before I install the coilovers, I wouldn't want to do it twice. Later, BR

Ground Control Slip on colivers are the best on the market. Save your money and get koni/gc all at once, it isnt worth skimping you wont be happy in the future.

def wait until you get shocks and i would get some koni yellows. there are so many people that swear by the gc/koni setup

Function form type 1 full coilovers are only 550* new... I like them for the price and go pretty low..I say go with those for a daily driver

Yeah but some people want quality and reliability. Konis - rebuildable, probably the best damping off the shelf shock. GC springs available in custom rates and lengths.

It's 550 new for a reason, thats all they do, go low and ride decently.
Get koni/gc, and you can do the same thing, but have a set that will blow functionform away.

i heard that gc/koni set up, that if you go too low it can **** up ur stock struts...

Well, if you really want it now, I don't see what's wrong with getting the ground controls now and getting some konis later. If your stock shocks blow, who cares, you'll be replacing them anyway. You'll just have to do the whole installing thing twice, but it doesn't take that long, maybe a couple of hours.

I'm doing 5 inches drop on my car with ground control. Have it for 8 years now and still good coilovers. Shock struts just need to replace that's all.

Take a look at the slammed thread, if koni's coudnt handel being slammed I doubt so many people would be using them

IMHO, I'm against Ground controls..*If all you get is the sleeve overs..Purchase a set of cheap *** sleeve overs on ebay. Throw away the springs that come with it. Install the sleeves on what ever damper of your choice..Koni yellows or KYB agx's are my choices..Then hit up a racing forum and look for a used spring for sale thread..There you will be able to purchase your Eibach ERS spring(which is what Makes GC, GC) in what ever spring rates/diameter to fit your sleeves you want for in the ball park of $25ea.

That set-up offers you IDENTICAL performance for a whole hell of a lot less. That is if you don't mind the time it takes to piece it together in order to save a few bucks.

Then when you can, get yourself corner-weighted..It's usually in the ball park of $100 to have it done.

you might have a point but what i see wrong about your advice is that i have never seen an ebay sleeve kit that uses the allen wrench type perches. thats part of what makes the gc's famous

My Ebay coilovers have allen locks. Tighten the allen key and it clamps the perch to the sleeve. -Later, BR

Even so..My ebay sleeves have never slipped with-out the allen bolt locks..and yes the threads are clean of debris. There's two perches for a reason to lock against one another, such as a jam nut.
