Default Fuel pump, relay, kill switch issue?

I've been having a problem with my del sol. Basically, when driving (cruising or accelerating) sometimes the car sputters really bad, like it doesn't want to deliver fuel or move, it will keep sputtering (and slowing down) till I let my foot off the gas pedal and reapply, than a few seconds later it'll start sputtering again, and I gotta release the pedal and reapply. The car ALWAYS starts and runs, it hasn't died but sometimes at red lights or if I'm idling and it starts to sputter it really seems like it wants to die. Can someone help me narrow this problem down?

The car does have a killswitch that cuts off power to the fuel pump.

Side note, when I bought the car the guy said that the previous owner said it might needs fuel pump soon. But the guy I bought it off of, who seems to be a good guy (still talk to him) said that he never had a problem with it.
