Re: (rieki)
here's a quote for those that cant read but cant afford to screw up a jdm climate ..who ever those may be.
and chameleons update
"i just installed an entire 99 dash into my friends 97 ek hatch, when i say complete its complete with vents climate and 99 harness in it. now weather you use your own 96-98 dash harness or the 99 it dont matter BUT to get the rear defroster working you need to tap a wire (baby blue with a yellow stripe) from the big plug that sits in front of the heater core and tap that into the baby blue with yellow stripe wire on the big green plug thats in front of the fuse box, the wire is at the end of the plug next to a green wire. once u do that you will see your relay click."

Wouldn't it be easier to do the following, assuming you knew what pins went with what:
1. Replace resistor with power transistor in the blower, instead of replacing the entire blower.
2. Add the blower fan high relay to the circuit.
3. Replace the cable-controlled air mix setup and attach the air mix motor used with the new setup, instead of replacing the entire heater unit
4. Replace the duct as usual.
After looking at the Honda web sites out there and comparing parts diagrams/part numbers between 98/99 civics, it seems like it could work.
Where could get these parts, really super-duper cheap? I called several junkyards and they didn't have any 99-00 civics.

HOLY ****>>>
I have 2 98 coupes.. and i bought two climate controls becuase i thought it was simply a matter of taking the old climate control console out with a couple of screws and the swapping the new one in... i was told by a number of people it was very easy... 'plug and play' in fact.. but thats NUTS..
you took your whole f'n dash out for it... at least thats how it looks to me....
is this even worth it to me? honestly..
i paid 40 for one..and like 75 for the other.. they sell for over 100 on ebay...
maybe ill just cash in on these...
lol
LMK what you think guys-

Re: (rieki)
does anyone know if the heater valve cable from teh 96-98 heater core is reuseable on the 99-00 heater core? The person I got it from is not including it or is missing it... thanks!
