Just stopping in to say congrats! I didn't watch the whole thing, just enough to see it can actually accelerate well. Have a good weekend.

Thanks, man!

Trying to get my heat to work now. Wind chill predicted -35 tomorrow, when I get out of work. Must have heat. Checked for flow through heater core. I need the heat..

It's brick (cold) as fukk outside. I'm inside de-thawing.

My heater core appears to be stopped up. I warmed the engine with a 30 minute drive, and I let the CLR sit in there, with HC hoses disconnected and up.. it's still in there, doing what it does. I'll go back to it "soon" .. since I want HEAT tonight.

It's even too cold for me to document.

Going to use some regular water, and drive with the flush in to help get this heat.

Back later.

The most entertaining video, other than the one of you dumping soap in the radiator, was you trying to communicate to the mechanic. He could tell you were a few cards shy of a full deck.

Completely not trolling here:

Be careful putting too much water in your cooling system when it's this cold. It'll freeze up, expand, and crack your block.

That is, in fact, not trolling.

I am mindful of the water in this cold. And I appreciate the reminder.

Good post.

Stat might not be opening, but it's not overheating..

What can't you drive your blazer? Or is that thing fucked up now?

is it possible that the car was just never filled with enough coolant after the swap? I mean it does take a good amount to completely fill the system. Did you wait for the thermostat to open then top it off again?

I'm doing that at this time.

I felt heat, but I quickly released the cap, so now I am letting it suck it all in.

Blazer is fine, might be a spider fuel unit.. they tend to go out. So the Honda is standing in.

I'll try to open the cap in like 20 minutes..

Here is a list of Civics in Northern New Jersey with a price range of $1 - $3000 maximum.

You could've spent your money more wisely, but you are a tater.

This is good advice, assuming he has 3k cash in hand he should have gone this route. Assuming he only had 1000, he had no choice but to fix his current bucket

I thought he had multiple vehicles?

Wouldnt it make more sense to daily his Envoy and save a few hundred a week to get a proper #geh?

The car he put that swap into is all beat up, and its a Y8 swap. Why not just find an EK for ~$2000?

I guess I just think differently.

Sounds like his other vehicle is a pos blazer. Doubt he could even sell both vehicles for $1000. So fixing the civic was his only choice. I was there as a teen so I know the feeling

The Blazer runs, why not drive the Blazer while you part out your broken civic and save money for a clean car?

Now that the civic runs, it doesnt even have working heat. The swap has a CEL.

What little cash you could muster, you pretty much just wasted on the swap, and its not running correctly.

I agree, but he seems content. It might not be possible for him to save money working at 7-11

Even more of a reason to wait, and do it the right way.

If you dont make enough income to begin with, why half-*** it when you have a running 2nd vehicle?

If money was an issue, it will even more of an issue now that the motor swap is done and his car needs further repairs.

This is the **** thats gonna keep him from moving forward whether it be his build or in life.

$650 in parts and labor for the swap. He couldve sold the vehicle to a junk yard for $500.

Thats $1150.

Work a few weeks, put aside $100 a week, you now have ~$1500.

$1500 will get you a clean, manual transmission Honda. It might have a **** ton of miles, but itll run right.
