Default excuse my ignorance

how difficult, with general knowledge, would it be to fix a broken piston or broken valves

it would be easier to buy a new motor, more expensive, but easier. really its just nuts and bolts.

Broken piston is likely to be two times harder than the broken valve. First you need to fully diagnose your problem, and then we can help you with proper explanations.

you really need to find out what it is broken piston or valve?

i';m not sure if either is broken, just preparing for the worse. Car won't start and it seems to be trying to start uber fast which would mean loss of compression...

sounds like the timing belt is broken. i would slap a new belt on and see if it runs. could do a compression check but you may damage valves/piston in the process. maybe you got lucky and the motor isnt toasted.

cams move. timing belt is great. and i can't hold my finger over the spark plug hole while cranking, too much pressure. so i'm guess my compression is ok. my spark is hella weak though, i don't know what would cause that, considering the coil in it is brand new. maybe the distributer is jacked up. don't know how to check though

it's been my experience that usually honda distributors either have spark, or get hot and then dont. i would check compression with a gauge to be more accurate. if good, check fuel pressure, injector pulse, pull the timing cover and make sure its in time. maybe jumped a tooth.

You need:

Compression Tester
Timing Light

The finger trick is lame, even a broken ring or melted piston could move enough air for your finger. Check the compression with a gauge. They can be had at your local parts store for around $30. It will tell the truth about your internals.

How did you determine the spark is "weak". Did you look at your plugs while cranking? Get a timing light to confirm your engine is properly timed and all 4 pistons have spark.

Have you done a tune-up? Recent maintenance?

Ok from start till recent.
1.I had a grounded wire by the intake manifold bracket which kept blowing a fuse. found it and fixed it.
2.it started right up and i let it run for a little while to recharge battery. then i turned it off.
3. went out the next day and it wouldn't start again. but the pump was priming and i was geting fuel so i checked for spark and it was dim yellow
4. I checked the coil for voltage and it wasnt getting anything inbetween primary and secondary so i replaced it
5. didn't fix anything, was still a dim spark that didn't fire all the time (IE sometimes no.1 plug got spark and sometimes nothing. same with others)
6. replaced coil again, and plugs and plug wires and cap and rotor. nothing
7. new coil went out AGAIN
8. checked compression with finger test
9. dizzy plug is getting power
10. new battery, nothing.
11. feelings of hopelessness

do you happen to know what wire was causing your fuse to blow and what fuse was it?

check injector pulse. if you have a test light or a set of noid lights, see if the ecm is actually pulsing the injectors. if the tdc/cyl position/crank sensor in the distributor is bad the computor may not know when to open the injectors.

and i bet there is a code in it, but you dont know it cause it wont start, so you wouldnt be able to tell if the cel is staying on anyway. pulling a code from it would be helpful in your diagnosis

Try a new distributor that fixed my problem. Autozone has Lifetime warranty on it so you wouldn't have buy anymore coils or modules either.
