I've seen all kinds of issues with aftermarket alarms, I would look at that a little closer! Maybe by disconnecting the alarm wire it put it into safe mode or something! Just a thought!

Than later you saying :
"i have a friend with a stock em1... i replaced the dizzy with his which is working fine in his car"-(OBD2b if im not mistaking )
Am I missing something? Should it work with no problem?
I guess thats why timing was off when you were done with replacement....

When I said I converted it to obd1 I meant I have a jumper and a chipped p28... Putting the obd2 dizzy and ecu makes it obd2 again... Sorry if it was confusing...
