Got a little further today, started with drilling out some spot welds =-(
Air hammer with flat chizel bit took this sound deadening material right up, way easier than buyin dry ice or hammer w/chizel.. less than 10 minutes for both sides...
may depend on how old your car is also?
Made decent progress today, got a lot of seam sealer off, sound deadeining, and spot welds.
more updates to come.

This is great info for that day in the future when I import a JDM RHD and want to convert it to LHD. Keep it up ... even though I think RHD conversions are a waste of effort ... they are a little self serving if ever I get the urge to go the other way.

I have to ask, why would you go through all the time, effort, and money of importing a JDM RHD shell, only to convert it to LHD? Why not just, ya know, but a LHD shell?

Well ... I could ask the same thing to the OP of this thread! Why would he be converting something that is LESS practical to drive on North American roads?! Anyway, he answered that: something to do. Well, I can think of lots of things to do with my time and this wouldn't be one of them, but it's still a neat project.
Nobody in their right mind would do this in Canada when you can pick up RHDs for dirt cheap. $3500 gets you a low-km authentic rust free JDM EG6 in the classifieds. (Even at this price they don't sell for a couple of weeks.) Trouble is, they're stupid RHDs, which are annoying to drive (novelty wears off fast). But the body is in great shape ... so, converting the firewall to something more practical like LHD would be a more logical project to undertake.
Also ... read this.
