Re: EJ6 Build, SiR-Turbo
Amazing work! I'll have to do some research on dry ice blasting, interesting process!
Question: The Skunk2 bar you have in addition to your ASR brace... is that typical?
I thought it was either/or. What is your reasoning behind installing both?
I have the ASR alone, atm.
Thank you and keep up the great work!

Re: EJ6 Build, SiR-Turbo
serves no useful purpose. i already had the skunk2 and didnt want to hassle with selling it. so i decided just to continue using the skunk2 in addition to asr. plus the bling factor of having more shiny metal down there. i see some guys using the asr with the beaks in addition same difference

great thread, excellent work ej6sir-t
just curious why you didn't use replacement panels for the body work?
not judging, the work is great. very useful info. still debating on which engine to use
now leaning back to the B-series

Re: EJ6 Build, SiR-Turbo
I did for the wheel well liner. but not for the quarter panel face. i didnt use one for the qp face because it was such a small area (less than the size of a dollar bill. another reason is that i did not want to have to weld in a piece and deal with uncoated steel that will eventually rust (places the expoxy would not have reached). also i would have had to find a good quarter panel for donation and in my area that is almost non existent.

RayChem'd the power feed for added protection and will also be using flame guard where it passes near exhaust. Wired in the fuse as close to the battery as physically possible. Removed the passenger side plugs from the chassis bay harness and kept the only three wires I needed. Those three are wired over to the drivers side and will be routed behind the firewall to the approiate plugs.

Re: EJ6 Build, SiR-Turbo
I will be paint the bay in sections for optimal finish since i do not have any kind of drafting to eliminate over spray. The three sections will be as follows
- firewall
- shock towers and beams (both sides)
- front core
the sections not currently being painted will be masked until it is their turn and re masked afterwards thus eliminating over spray transfer.
