ill start a new thread with the rebuild. this will be like engine #10 in this chassis. this is also the second or third time that car has been at police impound. i wouldnt doubt if this thing had like 400k on it. cant stop wont stop.
ill probly do a b16t or a gsrt.
cliffs: car jacked , found 8 days later stripped , sucks *****

Sorry to hear about your ride, but I'm glad you got it back. I had a question:
Do EM1 power mirrors bolt right up to the EG chassis? I've always like the shape of them and wanted to put them on my car, but have never seen anyone do it.

Re: eg stolen last night austin tx
i know they are mine because they only managed to steal 3 of them and the only center cap they took was spray painted white and my thumbprint was in the paint on it. what are the chances of someone selling only 3 itr rims with a spray painted center cap. cops gave me the wheels back.

A Maryland State Trooper told me that the only way he could go up to someone and retrieve stolen parts was if the part had a unique mark on it to identify it... aka a finger print on the center cap.
The part in question with the Trooper were my old wheels. I had receipts for the wheels and tires, but who's to say that the next person didn't buy the same exact wheels and tires that I had.

I just read this whole thread... i dont think im gonna be able to sleep tonight... **** thieves suck... im putting alarms, kill switches, fuel cutoff, whatever the **** i can put on my car before i move to LA. I DO NOT want to be a part of the "got pics of my chopped car" crew.
btw tho op if you got the guy trying to sell your tires and wheels, couldnt the cops get a little more out of the ******? like even if he didnt steal the ****, backtrack to the original ********?

If it's not blocked in by 2 or 3 cars or parked in the garage, then they will get it when you go to the grocery store or to the movies.
I've even heard stories of people breaking into and moving 2 or 3 cars just to get to the car they want.
If all else fails for them, then they will tow it.

theres gotta be a way to stop ridiculous crap like this though. someone said they scan for lojack but what if you hid several gps transceivers in random, hard to get to locations? if you used transceivers instead of regular transmitters, theyd be practically undetectable id think until they received a signal to activate. you could even hide them with their own batteries so thered be no tell tale wires leading to them. just keep fresh batteries on em and youd be good right? or for a low tech fix just cement some really badass, huge eye bolts in your driveway and chain the **** out of your car with chains too big for bolt cutters and in such a way that if they tried a blowtorch theyd jack up the best parts of your car, at least then your car would be safe at home. idk it seems ridiculous that its so hard to stop thieves.
