Re: EG Shell Project...
QFT carfreak. When I bought this shell and started this build I just graduated HS, was working a full time job while I took a semester off(which turned into a full year but whatever) and couldn't understand the whole I'm a broke student line. I deff see it now haha. I have to save weeks for a part instead of getting a few things every week or two. I'm still sticking to my original plans even tho its gonna take a little longer.
JdmBones I think u must not have read all the way thru lol. The original owner wanted to do a b series swap but was undecided. I'm doing a Z6 turbo build.

then i came home tonight after class/working out and this was sitting in my living room
it kinda felt like xmas lol. i opened the oil filter adapter up first
then the box from majestic honda
and finally my CC clutch
this thursday in between classes its supposed to be like 45-50* so im going to steel wool the block and spray it with a clear then start pulling stuff on. ill post more pics when i do that.

Re: EG Shell Project...
Haven't bought the kit yet. I'm buying a real garrett turbo within a kit on ebay. Ill be switching out the wastegate and other things slowly with higher quality stuff over time. One of the first things will be the manifold. Ill post a link next time I'm on my desktop. I got cut on my cornea so I'm just resting it trying not to use my phone and not watching tv to much, which is difficult itself lol.

Re: EG Shell Project...
i would go with a custom kit for less than that. i personally like go-autoworks. i would pm him on what u want hp wise and what type of kit you want. manifold mostly. log, ramhorn, mini ram, or cast, or get the cast top mount.

Re: EG Shell Project...
me and my friend (fv8s aka nick) put some things on the engine today and sprayed it so it would stop oxidizing from the bead blasting. i got the new oil pump, water pump, water pipe, thermostat, timing belt, tensionor, spring, timing set (still need to do the sequence to tighten it. sprayed the block an aluminum color so it still looks like the bare metal, then cleared it, sprayed the vtec selonoid with some black paint that was laying around, put my spark plugs in, oil filter sandwhich plate, oil filter on. i think thats it. i tried replacing the cap and rotor but snapped a bolt that holds the cap on and then the rotor screw wouldn't unscrew so i cleaned up and called it quits. now to pics in someone of an order.
(in case some one uses the search on here or just stumbles across this)the timing marks on the cam sprocket at 3 and 9 are NOT supposed to be level with the head on a 1.6. those are for the 1.5! the mark around seven points to the rear upper cover(which i almost lost) it looks like this
there are two arrows up top on the plastic that will point where the 3 and 9 line up(not pictured)

Re: EG Shell Project...
so i have gotten a good amount of stuff done to my engine. i sprayed the intake mani, cleaned up my altenator brackets, installed the altenator and belt, put the intake and exhaust manifold on, took apart my transmission, had my friend take it to school to clean it. i still have to buy the seals and then put it back together. i think thats it.

Re: EG Shell Project...
i actually really like how the intake and exhaust manifold turned out. we will have the trans finished and rebuilt in no time. in the mean time try to figure out gear ratio/size in your Si trans compared to mine
