Icon2 EG Hatch W/GSR Swap ... Limp Mode Questions.

Ok I have a OBD1 gsr swap in my eg hatch and it hits rev Limiter at 6500 or so and cant hear or feel any vtec. Im running a p72 jdm "Baby" ECU and have no check engine light I jumped the plug and get no code just check engine light on and srs light blinking steady. I read a forum that said to replace knock senser and check and clean the vtec solenoid. I checked the vtec solenoid and it still engages when stratght wired and cleaned the screen out on the gasket "which was already clean to start with" but did it anyway. Couldnt find the knock senser pretty sure its hidden under the intake manafold . Any ideas on why computer is in limp mode and how to fix problem ?? plz and tks

Sorry, I've been out of the game for a while so these might be some dumb questions...

What's a "baby" ecu?
What year and trim is your EG?
What wiring harness are you using, GSR or the stock Civic one?
Are you sure everything is wired correctly? This is generally the issue in most cases...

First, you probably don't want to force your car to run with VTEC engaged. Your car is running in limp mode for a reason. Second, the knock sensor sits below the intake manifold on the #2 piston (one in from the timing belt side or 3 in from the transmission side). The knock sensor alone will not force your car into limp mode, it simply retards timing depending if it senses detonation.

Maybe another stupid question, but are you sure you jumped the ECU connector properly?
