I've a similar problem. Light stays on in middle position. Thought it was the door switch but on the passenger side the switch tests out ok. Have yet to check the driver's side but I bet it's ok too. Need to take out the light itself and examine.

Ok, so I've been all over the place looking for a solution to my dome light problem. Here's what I know...
When I open the drivers door, the dome light won't come on in the "door" position. (It works for every other door.) Also, the dash light for the door being open doesn't show. BUT, the courtesy light in the drivers door DOES work!
I got a new door switch and no change.
Again, all other doors work properly as well as the dome light.
So, where is the wire located that burnt out between the drivers door and the dome/dash light?
I have a 95 Accord EX.
I will repeat that it is NOT a bad switch or dome light! Even exchanging switches from another door that works has the same results. And the dome light works in every position, as well as all dash lights for each door other than drivers side front.
Someone PLEASE post an electrical diagram or tell me exactly where I should be looking for the burnt wire or harness it may be burnt out of.
Ty in advance!

This is a Civic forum. Ask your Accord questions somewhere else.

The drivers door pin switch goes through the ICM before it gets to the dome light, [ this is to isolate the drivers door from the other doors for things like warning chimes] I am guessing there is a problem with the ICM. 94

Ty, I'll look into that. I will say that the issue is all my fault because I replaced the bulb while the door was open and having the switch to "door". It arced somehow at the bulb connectors, and that's when it stopped working. I thought it to be a fuse possibly, but there doesn't seem to be individual fuses for each door. I don't know what an ICM is, but I'll research it. (Hopefully you didn't mean ECU... Lol. But that would be easy to reset at least.) I know it's not a civic, as the jerk above stated, but still Honda and this is a rare thing to have happen. And this forum had good info even though nobody else in the world seems to have my problem. Ty for the thought out reply! I hope to help others as well if I can solve this.
AND, to all else reading this, ALWAYS TURN THE SWITCH OFF TO CHANGE A BULB! Otherwise you may end up like me...

Update: I looked up ICM (Ignition Control Module) and dome light, and no correlation at all comes up on the web. Not saying you can't be right, but there is absolutely nothing out there for testing that. Plus, my beeper works just fine when the drivers door is open. It's just the dash indicator and dome light that won't work. I really need a wiring diagram!

I meant said ICM [integrated control module] mounted to the back of under dash fuse box.
Do the intermittent wipers work?
Does the rear window defrost work?
Do the warning chimes work, key still in ign. lights still on? 94

After some digging, I got what you meant. Called the ICU. And yes, all of those things work perfectly.
