Del sol stutters and jumps on 2nd gear
Hi, i recently bought a del sol roughly over a month ago. Its a 95 del sol si b16 dohc vtec.
My car stutters and jumps sometimes only on second gear. It doesnt do it often only sometimes. ive noticed there are 2 ways to make the stuttering/jumps happen. The first common way when it jumps and stutters is when im in second gear, if i release the clutch too fast while adding a little/normal amount of gas,(steady preesure) the car will jump and stutter like its choking on gas. im not too sure since my memory is a little bit fuzzy but i think it smoothes out once i add more gas.
the 2nd time it happens is when im not going to fast,(idling with little gas flowing thru at a steady rpm) and i hit a bump, (speed bump or anything that will make my car bounce up) when my car comes back down it will do that stuttering/jumping thing again like its choking on gas. (when my car comes back down it most likely causes my foot to release off the gas pedal a little bit for a split sec. then goes back to normal)
so from what ive noticed, this occurs when i dont have alot of gas flowing thru. and i believe it only happens in 2nd gear, i believe usualy when this happens is when my foot on the gas pedal is pretty light either keeping the gas flowing normally or adding very little gas.
can someone give me a possible explanation as to why this happens, and is it bad for my car if i dont fix it?

check the lower trans mount and motor mounts had same type of problem with my civic turned out that the lower trans mount was bad causing the motor to swing and making smooth shifting very hard
check number 12 and 13

ok thanks for the info, i forgot to mention im a big noob with cars, but luckily i understood what you said since i know what the mount is. i might have someone take a look for me if i happen to be able to get someone to do it for me. but in case i cant get anyone to help me out with that, do you know if its bad for my car if i just leave it the way it is? will there be any further damage to my car or will it not harm it? any input will help me lots
thanks

it's obviously not GOOD for the car but i've had a similar problem once with an EG and it turned out to be the lower tranny mount. Didn't do any damage to the engine or the tranny.
I've used an AEM replacement mount, which in my opinion are better + gave me clearance for an AEM v2 CAI off an integra
Fairly easy to replace with a 2nd hand one too .. it's just 5 bolts
