Speaking of which, you might be able to get someone to do paintless dent repair on it if it's not too bad.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
To be honest I wouldnt mind painting it, it just may take a while because im not going to put alot of money into the car so It may have a huge primer spot where the dent was for a good while. There is a little surface rust starting, so Im going to fix the dents asap before it gets to bad. Im loving the gas mileage btw! Averaged 38MPG at 75mph on the road trip back. Thats def a plus! Paid 2500 for the car which is another plus!

Deosn't look all bad, I have seen MUCH worse. At least it's still blue.
All she need's is a front/rear bumpers, side skirts, lip(s), grill, 15/16's and a about a 2.5 ish inch drop and she will be beautiful!
Throw in a good clay bar/wax while your at it.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
well u can do as i suggested and then just paint that spot and blend it... or if you decide to repaint the whole car thats another great option, alot of good vids on youtube that can help you.. shouldnt be too pricy if you do the job yourself.. you just need lots and lots of patience..

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
That is no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be. I was waiting for a ricer body kit, huge wing, gawdy random interior crap from autozone, and euro tail lights haha.
Shouldn't be too hard to get it back to stock.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
I have seen EX's that looked like a SI, everything top to bottom was changed. The only way for us to tell was the VIN.
My friend was looking at civic's, and came across a '99 SI'. It wasn't, it was a 99 ex.
The guy selling it, thought it was a SI, and wouldn't admit it was a EX. Said he wanted 10k for such a rare piece. This was 2 years ago.

Moonroof means nothing. It could be a EX that was turned into a SI clone.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
the vin starts like this
1HGEM1
Its an si.
And yes I calculated my fuel economy and each time i filled up and got a steady average of 38mpg with cruise control at 75MPH each time. Its a b16a2,stamped right on the side of the block, i ran 87 octane also.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
I could possibly see a B16A2 getting 38mpg. My D16Y8 is rated at about 35mpg iirc and I've gotten 42mpg with it in my EX coupe.
And winning the Honda lottery feels pretty damn good. Thanks.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
I'm not trying to say that you're wrong, I've gotten a 42mpg average tank out of my '98 GSR but definitely not going that fast on the highway.

Re: De-Rice my Civic SI
i didnt go by the speedometer, i went by the GPS for both speed and distance. Anyway today im doing an oil change and taking the white overlay off the cluster. Im also getting some floomats and cleaning the interior, but I may wait till i fix the dents.
