cold engine problem, faultly new non oem O2????
2000 Honda Civic 175k miles.
Ok, just had the check engine light come on about a month ago. Went right to a small local shop that I've went to a couple times with out any problems, they said it was the o2, they replaced it, the light went out, all is good.
Problem part 2: Since this point, when leaving a parking spot/garage any time its sat for at least 10 minutes, at about the point the car should shift when accelerating, it seems to buck / bog /stall for a second or two before kicking into the next gear. Also the car appears to be getting notibly worse gas mileage, and kinda feels like it has a tad less power, but thats hard to tell.
This problem developed gradually, and appears at the moment to be slowly getting worse. Its only ever happens once and is gone after a minute of driving max. I took it to honda who thought it was the transmission fluid, which i gave in and changed, and made no difference.
My question is, is there some way that I could have gotten a bad o2 sensor, that would cause this issue. I'm really not in the best position to trade the car in for a new one, but I'm going to have to if this doesn't get fixed, I at least need the 3k tradein for the car not the 1k I'll get if its something big and apparent. It could be the auto tran, but then i think it would do it more then at start up and not affect mpg
I also don't really feel like sucking it up and paying honda 300 to rereplace the o2 unless theres some way to kinda know thats the issue.
Any help, much appreciated.
