clutch slipping
can having too much oil in the crankcase cause the clutch to slip? i'm thinking that too much oil blew the rear main seal and entered the tranny causing the clutch to slip? is that possible?

Re: clutch slipping
uhhhh, I guess it could be possible but highly unlikely, you'd have to have a shiz load of oil in there and you'd prolly have a bunch of bent rods from them slapping into the oil before you blew out that main seal. Look around in the trans. where the window for your clutch fork comes out and under the trans where it meets the block if theres oil in there you'll notice it at those places. if no oil, look for other slipping causes!

Re: clutch slipping
thanks for the reply
so the car revs up when I give it instant gas in any gear, clutch is slipping right?
the car has 200k miles and there it def oil under where the block and tranny meets, I checked the oil and it is probably 3/4 inch above the top dot, this isn't that much to justify a blown rear seal right and cause clutch to slip? this started the next day after the oil was changed
