Default Civic stalled, no oil, lack of power, valves having royal ruble!!!

Was driving home tonight and going up a hill at 65 I noticed a huge lack in power when I down shifted. I was able to hold 70mph all the way home on flat freeway. I can hear knocking from the motor. Got to exit and car stalled. Starts right back up but wouldnt idle unless I held the RPM's around 3k. I never leak oil on the ground and the dip stick came back DRY. Its been about 8k since the last oil change. I added 3 quarts and started her up but it sounds like the valves are having a party.

So... anyone know what my damage would be? Would it be a simple valve adjustment? Blown motor? Blown head gasket?

My worries are the fact that the oil dip stick came up dry and I must have been running w/o oil for a good 40 miles.

1996 Civic EX 2 door. Motor has 60k while car has 234k.

Yeah its screwed. I neglected this car. I bought a Honda to commute with and just never bothered caring to change the oil. Mechanic told me these Honda motors burn oil and need to be checked every now and again. Valve adjustment helped at idle but were thinking its coming from the bottom end. Bad rod bearing or even bent valve.

Ive been told its gonna be cheaper to get a used D16 and just drop it in.

Whats this thing worth in its current condition? Chassis has 230k and motor w/ problem has 65k. Everything works except the dash lights. Has Yellow Koni adjustables, Ground control springs, GSR fat 5's.

you probably spun a bearing. it's probably worth a thousand dollars or so with a bad motor.
