i'd say buy anything thats looks cool to you in super street or import tuner, they have lots of performance ads

Unless you have a 98 EJ8 (2dr cpe) w/ a D16y8 then I wouldnt waste any money on the non-vtec SOHC motor. I/H/E is going to cost your around 7-800+ and will give you next to nothing in terms of hp. Your "butt dyno" may feel the difference, but I assure you that most people will only notice how loud your car is and how much it doesnt accelerate.
Save your money and think about possibly swapping the engine for a larger one or if you have the D16y8 then you can make plans for turbo.
If anything I would just drop in a K&N air filter into your stock air box.

Re: Cheap horsepower (a_crowl)
boost it.
if no money for boost, then go mini me.
mini me is cheaper than i/h/e and will net more power
ebay intakes work the same as the $200 ones, its just a tube... a quality filter is whats important on a cai/sri

Re: (iENJOIfallen)
Swap it with something better
Boost it/y8 transmission
Those are the 2 choices. Everything else is wasted money IMO. A header/intake/exhaust may be "cheap", but makes next to no power.

how much you think a good turbo would run?
i'd want good quality just not alot of $ lol
i might be able to get my hands on a turbo off a
diesel skidsteer.. think i could work with that?

Thats a Good Joke man cheap horse power. lmfao
Well power to weight ratio would help, so remove excess weight. That's better then cheap, it's free!!!
I tried Nitrous on my D16y7. It sucked and I don't recomend it unless you can afford all the gadgets you will need to make it run right. = Not cheap
