i just got them balanced like 3 weeks ago and it drove perfect last weekend.. im gona switch the wheels to the back to the front n see if it changes if not my buddy said it might be my axles

ok so its most likly my axles your saying i understanding corectly? now is there a way i can check for sure if i look under the car or do i need to just change them and see? by the way guys thanks for ur help

sounds like axles as stated before. and do you have a book for your civic? it will tell you how to check suspension components. inspect the cv axle boots for tears/rips. look for obvious grease leakage around the joints. you can check your axle play by holding the shaft steady and try to spin the inner joint back and forth.

ok i have the stock d16y7 theres just 2 axles i need right? should i go oem?

my friend is driving and im in the passenger with my foot on the floor i can feel something knocking down there.. how should i go about buying new axles should i just get these rebuilt of get oe replacments ? oem ones are about 150 each

another thing is i drive a 97 civic hx and i heard some noise when i first got it, thought it was an axle shaft, replaced them,and still had the noise. my car also has that chatter at my feet. turns out its the input bearings in the tranny. with your axles completely seated to the trans, if you can move that inner axle joint around where it hooks to tranny, them bearings are shot. and swizz977,i would just get some refurbished ones with a warranty,but thats me. i guess it would depend on how long you plan to keep the car. let us know the outcome.

i had this same problem in my prelude and i replaced the axles and it still did the same thing but not as bad then i found out it was actually the rear engine mount. I would definitely consider checking out the mounts.

For axles on a relatively stock car (yours is relatively stock), just get some lifetime warranty Autozone/Advance Auto axles and call it a day.

refurbished is fine with a warranty especially if your car is mostly stock and yes i would suggest both.

I agree with the bad axle theory. It's common for a bad axle to vibrate during acceleration, but not too bad while coasting/maintaining speed

Buddy I suggest you open an English textbook and teach yourself how to write properly. It gets kinda hard to understand your posts sometimes. Good luck with your axle problem. Sometimes my EJ1 will vibrate, but not very hard, if I have it in 5th gear in low revs and I put the pedal down to the floor.

Check inner CV joints. Jack the front tire up one at a time. Put car in top gear even at low rpm. Have somebody look underneath to see if cv joints are shaking bad and causing the engine and trans to shake with it.

Do you people know how low he has this car? He's sitting on the shock towers and his axles and what not are notching the frame. Oil pan is messed up too. Car isn't really stock as he's making out gentlemen. Spends good money to trash a car's functionality and wonders why he's having issues. Makes no sense.
