cbr929RR ITB
So i got alot of PM's from my post in "toda itb" about the CBR929RR ITB. I was planning on using a stock d-series intake manifold flange and getting it modified to mount up to the 929 ITB's. The project sorta got put on hold as we dont have a car to put them on anymore. (i have a turbo)
The one in the pictures i bought for $150 from a motorcycle place. It didnt include the fuel injectors and the fuel rail..but i was planning on using the d-series parts.
Anyways here is some pictures along with a stock d-series *cut* intake manifold..and my cat sneaked into a few of them. I just cut off the d-series manifold really quick..thats of course not how it would/could work. I just wanted to get some ideas.
checkout how CLOSE it is in size to the stock d-series manifold.

Re: cbr929RR ITB (Boost Pressure)
you may also be better off using toyota 4ag 20 vavle throttles. you can get them for around 350..a little more spendy.and they are 43mm. me and my roomate are contesting ussing these as i may use the 20valve 4 throttles for my ae86..but i have since lost a little interest in this in favor of just doing the gze kit..so well see as well on our porject. also if you can just make an adapter plate instead of using so much of the runner off the factory manifold. if you are interested in the toyota 20 vavle throttles post on here and i will send the link you way for purchase.

Re: cbr929RR ITB (DSC)
well good luck with finishing this project..with yours is looks to be easier to make a manifold adapter due to the itb's having fuel injector holes..where as the 20 vavles do not..

Re: cbr929RR ITB (JDM_Sol)
Just want to let you guys know this and see if anyone is interested in buying
a set. My friend/engine builder called to told me he got the custom ITBs all figured out and all done so I went to my friend's shop to check it out. I was so surprised to see the ITB that he made. The finished unit
is real nice and is comparable to the TWM and the TODA unit.
The main difference
that he/I was trying to achieved is that, IT COSTS LESS THAN HALF OF THE PRICE!
Unlike the TODA unit, the custom ITBs retains all stock sensors, and does not
require a stand alone management system. You can use RC injectors or stock injectors. Stock fuel rails or aftermarket rails (We are using a AEM fuel rail) B&M FPR or AEM FPR. Tuning is highly recommended if you
want to max out the power. I'm guessing it'll gain 10-15hp and mad TQ acorss
the band but we don't know yet until I get a set of them ITBs to put on my ITR
and dyno it. Should be in 2 weeks. I'll try to take some pics of the ITBs we made
and let you guys know more info on it.
The ITBs uses the same mtorcycle ITB and half cut B16A manifold (for PR3 head).
welding and adapter was done by the machine shop. The air horn is by TWM (they
sell air horns alone, all sizes) The ITB is ported and the manifold is ported. The runners are equal length.
He's got 4 sets for sale and I got the first set. Once the install pics is up and the dyno is here. The price is $1000 just to cover all costs and is only for one time offer. So first 3 people get them.
Stay tuned...
