Hey guys I know I am new to this forum but I have been building my 93 si for about four years now and it is said to be a very clean car but I will let the pictures do justice when it stops raining . The problem with the car is that after I shift into second and get going I wil hit the gas about 20% and the car will shake, the steering wheel shakes the gas pedal shakes and its pretty bad and as I give the car more gas the car shakes harder, at about 5-6k the car seems like it stops shaking, but at the same time it feels like it still has vibration, the same thing happens in third and fourth, once the car feels like it is not under heavy load the vibration goes away any help would be much appreciated
I have replaced both axles
inner tie rods
wheels are balanced

I was thinking it could possibly be mounts but I looked at them and as far as I could tell they were good. I am stumped any help pleasee

halfway through the reading i assumed it was the mounts, but if you think the mounts are fine.. check for a vaccum leak?

They have inserts idk I think it could be the mounts but visually I cant see any tears. I doubt it is a vac leak the car is really pissing me off.

jack up ur car and check wheels for play might be ur bearings..

my car does the same goddamn thing man, and i know what it is, because mine didnt do it until after i took out my axle. it separated at the knuckle and i pushed it all back in there and now it vibrates pretty bad, so i would suggest new axles? not too expensive, around here theyre 40 bucks for remanned ones.

he said he did new axles but that was my guess after reading the first sentence... i would say mounts just b/c u cant visually see a tear doesnt mean they rnt weak... wat kind of motor is it?

The car has a built gsr swap in it I am planning on getting new mounts soon once I complete my other build but for some reason I am thinking it has something to do with the front end suspension.

i have the same problem. car shakes under acceleration. BONE STOCK 93 si del sol. new axels and all new mounts from previous owner. never had this before.

I know it is really making me mad I cant seem to figure it out there seems to be no play at all in the front end susp, the only thing a shop thought is if the control arm was slightly bent. I dont understand how that would cause the car to only shake under load though. It feels like an axle but after so many sets I think I am going to try my friends gators to see if those solve the problem.

with inserts, your car will vibrate at all rpms, and will vibrate more when it resonates. if it only vibrates during a certain rpm, i'd say its normal. if its a medium? vibration.

if its a vibration so bad that your scared to push it, like having unbalanced wheel at high speeds, then iunno. but im pretty sure its normal.

the vibration is bad you can feel the steering wheel shake and it feels like the front end of the car shakes under load. I dont understand why

I have inserts as well. My car vibrates during all rpms, but vibrates like crazy around the 6k range. Is the vibration like a ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ vibration or a boom boom vibration?

it is a virbration in the steering wheel and gas pedal and it feels like my front end is shaking, because it is causing the car to wobble it seems like when I accelerate.

how, can you be more detailed? my steering wheel vibrates too, and my whole car vibrates and i have inserts, it vibrates like crazy for me around the 6k range, and the whole car can feel it, it tickles my passengers. Is it only on high rpm, or high mph, or a combination of sort.

I have the same issue iwth my 2000 civic si, motor is the stock b16a2. No mods to the motor. BY THE WAY VIBRATIONS ARE NOT NORMAL FOR ONE PERSON WHO KEEPS SAYING ITS NORMAL, will feel some with poly inserts in ur mounts though, should NOT be violantly though. I have both new axles, and a new intermediate shaft, the balance of those has been checked as well. They are ok. Front end is as tight! All 4 wheels are balanced, rims are not out-of-round. I Replacemed one motor mount which was torren badly. Other mounts don't have much movement at all when pried against. I have the stock rubber mounts. Issue still exists but not as severely. Still notice it prominately in 2nd gear under the same conditions mentioned in this thread. Also noticed in 3rd and 4th.

I put the car in the air and put it into 2nd gear and rev'ed it to watch the motor react, front end, etc. Its the motor and tranny rocking/ shuttering thats causing the virbation. Weather its the mounts, or some other issue i do not know. Anyone that has actually fixed this issue and know what they are talking about, Please PM me, thank you.

i got a b20v swapped 92 eg hatch and mine did the same thing. come to find out it was my cv axles and my t-bracket mount on the back of the motor.

check the lca's in the frount mine were horrible and there was no rubber at all i had all the same symptoms that you have so i went to honda and bought all new oem bushings and replaced just the lca bushings and i notice a really smooth ride and no more shaking just take a look dose not take more then 10 minutes

I decided to double check my motor mounts. I cleaned them off and duplicated the symptom in the air. The rear mount is separated, couldnt see it as clearly as i thought with dirt and debris covering it. Will be installing it and reposting with results. Thanks

Rear mount replaced, shaking/ vibration gone. Did some more research, axles or mounts are the common causes for this issue.
