So you have an aftermarket ECU ??? honestly, i would try replacing that, at this point i don't see what else could be going wrong. I was going to suggest that your computer is crapping out from the start, but it should have a check light, but maybe that has something to do with what has been "modified"

It can't be my ECU. Like I have said, the problem just all of a sudden happened, out of nowhere. I was running on THIS ECU, and didn't have any problems.

Is that a backfire i hear in the background??? it sounds like the engine is being flooded. Electronics are funny like that though, they work, and then all of a sudden they don't. Are your sparkplugs black?

just like any other part an ECU can go bad.. are you sure you check engine light even works? I'd swap ECUs with a known good one.

try to check the distributor rotor if its is in the right firing order, after that check the MAP sensor, normally if its not working properly its not giving the proper value to the ECU & this thing happens.. Goodluck on the fix.

Thanks, will check on that. People on Team Integra believe it could be spark plug wires as well. They are bad and need to be replaced.

Need some more suggestions. Did a tune up on the car. Swapped in map sensors, changed FPR, Fuel Pump, Fuel Filter, still nothing. Dizzy problem?

I'd think you'd have other issues if the distributor was malfunctioning, and i would think it would be around all the time, idle included. Honestly, at this point, all things seem to point to an ECU. Stuttering problems like this almost always seem to come from a faulty O2 sensor, and since you don't have one, the only other thing i can think of would be the computer. You didn't say that you checked the TPS??? that still may be the culprit, and also, with that aftermarket computer, its possible something isn't set right. If all else fails, take it to a tune shop and have them check it out.

--edit--
oh yeah, just thought about this, but unplug the TPS, you'll get horrible gas mileage, but if the surging problem goes away, then you know its the TPS, if it doesn't change you can rule that out.

Here is what I narrowed it down to. I changed injectors, one was cracked anyway, I changed fuel pump and filter, fpr, did a tune up as stated before. I got this chip from Phearable, and it's still doin the same thing. IT COULD be the ecu, but I really don't know. THE TPS is fine, I unplugged it and didn't do anything. I'll see if i can borrow someones chipped ECU and test theirs out.

BUT, I swapped to a stock ecu, and it still acted shitty.

it would without an O2 sensor

So should I use a known good chipped ecu with my chip? Since i got the map from Phearable?

So the MAP sensor is aftermarket also? Do you have a place for an O2 sensor? because if you swapped in an O2 sensor and OE computer, and it runs fine, then you've found your problem. Otherwise, yes, you need a known good aftermarket computer and what do you mean with your chip?

I don't believe a bad O2 would cause this much bogging. Plus the phearable chip/map, he eliminates the o2 sensors.

when you get that low on gas, you pump can suck up junk and deposits in the tank and clog up the lines. so the filter and pump was changed and it still acts up??? clean your fuel injectors! there are tiny screens inside them to further filter out **** and if they get plugged, the engine will stumble.

check your wires! i had a similar problem and i replaced all the parts you did, the wires were the last thing i bought and there the thing that fixed it.

Just realized this, but an OE ECU would need an OE MAP sensor, combination of improper MAP and O@ sensor would cause bogging like that. But if you can find a working chipped ECU, than it should work, or if it doesn't you can move on to the next possibility.

he already replaced injectors.

Do you mean wiring harness?

--edit--
I've been trying to find confirmation, because it varies with vehicle, but a faulty coolant temp sensor or air temp sensor will cause bogging.

When the problem FIRST occured, I had 2 chipped ecus, one I was running when my car started acting up. I swapped ECU's to see if it would do anything with the chip/basemap I was running, and it still did the same.

I have changed the Injectors, one of the old ones when pulled out was cracked and done for. But still doing the same

I have also changed my wires. Meaning Spark plug wires. That's not the culprit.

The MAP sensor is DENSO. Checked, and changed out that a friend had, nothing.

I'm running out of ideas on this, and I'd really like to get this damn thing driveable, esp. over 20mph.

i had to read it 4 times to find this. so my injector idea is out. thanks swansen.

i was then gonna suggest the air temp sensor like swansen said, but from looking at whats been done ecu wise i think its a mess and yeah most problems do happen out of no where. with electircal there really is no advanced warning. i dont remember but did you clean the fuel lines?

I ran fuel injector cleaner through it once. Didn't help.
