Default Cage weight

I'm interested in building an eg hatch for open road racing, while this is not required for the division my car will ever see I would prefer to build it to the top class requirements for my own safety.

So this is mainly aimed at those who have full cages, what weight addition can I expect from a 6 point (or higher) cage?

The rules can be found here if it helps you get an idea of what I am looking for as far as cage design and estimated weight of said cage. I'm looking to build the car to SS2 requirements.

Or in the event this race never comes back to life these rules

Any input would be great.

Default Re: Cage weight

Depending upon the exact construction, you can estimate roughly 80-90 pounds for a mild steel cage such as the one described in your attached documents.
