Cables on driver side window came off track
Its a real pain to see anything in the window and im not exactly sure how the cables go back on. Its a crank up window on a 2000 civic. If anyone has any type of diagram or knows any easy way to do this please help. This is the first time it has rained in LA in months and of course the first day it does this happens.

Common problems on the Civics. You will need to take the door panel off and adjust the front track on the window. I use silicone spray to keep this from happening.

Re: Cables on driver side window came off track
The window is sitting in the track just fine. But there are 2 cables(one for up and one for rolling down. They are both just hanging around loosely in the window and its really tough to see where they go. Maybe something broke that holds the cables in place. I`m really not sure but it is definately 2 cables.

I have the door panel off, but im not sure where the cables go. or what holds them in place? do they just sit in the track? Seems like not much stopping it from just sliding off again. Is there any type of adjustment to tighten them up? Thanks

Re: Cables on driver side window came off track
This is all i can find on a search.
Window crank turns a spool which unwinds and winds a cable to pull the window up and down. This part is called a regulator. Your window regulator has failed most often when you remove it to replace it with a new one you will see one of the two cable housings where they stop has broken thru the plastic. This slack ran over the spool and got out of place. Don't drive around with duct tape holding up the window.

The window regulator.... That makes sense now. There some Honda dealers on EBay that sells them once in a while. I buy parts from DCH in Temecula. They have decent prices and shipping. You can try using Majestic Honda.

Yeah not to bad, I am guessing that that is a dealer only part too. Im calling a discount auto parts store near my home now.
