Default Breather Hoses

Hey guys I have a quick question. You know the hoses that go from the valve cover to the intake and theres another one that goes to the back of the intake manifold i think. They are like half metal and half rubber. Is it okay to change the metal hardlines to rubber or will they melt or something? Hope you understand what i am asking. Thanks!

i don't think it'll cause a problem because i changed mines out and it's been fine for 8 months now.

It's fine, there won't be any problems. Aftermarket intakes utilize a rubber or silicone hose from the valve cover to the intake arm.

From what I understand: you're talking about #8 in this picture?

I just removed that all together and re-connected the two spots with one of the rubber hoses attached to #8.

exactly i was talking abt number 8. how part of it was metal and some was rubber. Ok thanks for the help because i think it will look much better with rubber instead of the metal. also where did u get the exploded view?

What is the second hose for? im going to be doing the same thing....getting rid of the metal and rubber thing (#8) and putting two different hoses in its place. So what is the second hose for? no the one hooked from the intake to the valve cover

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I cant find the correct heater hose to replace both of them. Everytime I go to a store all everyone wants to do is type **** in the computer and they cant figure it out.

Anyone know the correct size, name ect so i can get this? Thanks a lot!

yes top one goes to the air intake, and the one connected below it is a coolant line.

i just put a breather filter on my valve cover and took off that metal piece, the rubber hose that connects to the metal piece is long enough to reach the other end, so you can just loop it

When you ask for a heater hose you're asking for something completely different. What you need to do is just pull some of the same diameter rubber hose off a reel and cut off the length you need. They have universal rubber hose in different diameters on reels in every parts store. I think the rubber hose I got says "fuel" on it. Oh well it doesn't seem to matter.
