Default Battery is full power yet starter clicks like battery is dead.

Car has been running great then one day i came out after letting it sit for two hours and the car wouldnt even turn over, so i jumped it thinking it was the battery, new battery later and car wont turn over, replaced the starter and same thing. So i swapped the old one back in and it clicks real fast like when the battery is dead but it doesnt turn over. Any one had this problem? i just want to drive my hatch.

Try checking your grounds sir. Particularly the one from the transmission to the frame. Later, BR

we have three components we are working with here.

power to the starter
ground from the power
starter itself

check the amperage that the starter is getting with a multimeter. check service manual to make sure it's enough.

check continuity from ground on starter to negative battery terminal.

if both of these figures check out, take out the starter and have it tested at autoparts store.

should be pretty simple fix.

i think the grounds should be faulty. had a earlier problem like this. worked on it all afternoon. finally found that the grounds were giving the problem.

this happened on my ruck awhile ago, take the starter out and clean the contacts and the plunger or just replace them( pretty cheap).

should work fine after that
