B18C1 into Del Sol Si WIRING HARNESS >:O
i put a GSR in my friend's del sol. the whole swap is just about done, but the wiring harness is pissing me off... it's the same 2000GSR wiring harness that came with the motor. from what i had read in all of the FAQs, from what i had worked with once, and from what i had seen running in another car; the OBD2 GSR engine harness plugs straight into the EG shock tower harnesses, with addition of IAB and knock wires (if you run a P72). i'm running it on a chipped P28. the P28 and the program are verified. i chipped it for my other friend's car and it runs perfectly. some of the main things that are really frustrating me are:
the wiring harness had no RPM signal wire: the fat blue one that's supposed to be next to the blk/yel. the distributor had one, but on the harness side, it ended in a rubber plug. same with the driver side shock tower mount. rubber plug in an empty socket. so i ran a new wire and it runs a little better.
i believe TPS and MAP run nowhere... when i meter at the ECU, i get 12v on MAP signal, and .4 on TPS no matter where the throttle is at. when i meter at the sensors, they give within spec numbers...
====> cliffs notes: 93 Del Sol Si, 2000 GSR motor, 2000 GSR engine harness, known working chipped P28, car barely idles, won't rev. only code thrown is 41 (o2). i believe the two engine harnesses aren't interchangeable like the FAQ says.
anybody have any ideas? i'm sitting in the garage right now squatting wi-fi and scratching my head.
