b16b vs b18c
well found a place with a cheap b16b full swap.was wondering which would be better to go with granted price is about the same for either a gsr or for a ctr motor. i have a 92 vx. was thinking the b16b would be the way to go since the internals are already better than a gsr. i know it would lack torque. not looking to go super fast. just want a swap. looking to do just bolt ons for either way i go.
thanks for your input

Re: b16b vs b18c (whal3_p3nis)
so does the ctr motor not bolt up exactly as a b16a would? what else would be needed. i thought that it would be a straight swap since it is a B series motor too.

Not really with the B16b he would be getting a better tranny, cams, and valvetrain. And all he would need to do is swap in a ls,gsr.or itr crank and rods and he would have a 1.8L

also in the future he could stroke it. unlike the b16a, the b16B is a destroked b18c5. look into it.
b16B is a sick motor and if stroked u could potentially have a sick c5 motor with a b16b stamp...

Re: (ej0513)
thanks guys. man, the guy flaking on me. not geting back, got all excited for nothing. guy was going out of business and seeling full swap (tranny, motor, ecu and even axles) gsr for 1400, and ctr for 1450, but he's not getting back to my emails. damn, hopefully he gets back soon.

I was looking at getting the GSR. what is the difference between that and the CTR. I eventually want to go turbo. It would be going into a 94 cpe dx. Thanks for any help. Im looking for a good turbo motor, and something with enough power to get me through the down time in between the swap and the turbo. although anything would really be better than my d15b7 what would be best.

Maybe the police found him before he was able to return your emails. A pretty reliable rule to live by is that if something sounds too good to be true, it most likely is.

Re: (Padawan)
gsr swap for 1400? I got some swap front property in florida I'll sell you too. I'd break my arm getting to my wallet for a full gsr swap for 1400.
