I was going to get a B&M Precision Sport Shifter with shperical bearing and aluminum pivot housing (pn# 45074) or do the integra shifter swap in my civic. and was going to get the energy suspension bushing. but dont know which shifter to go with? what do all think, OEM or Aftermarket?

Since i have used both shifters in a number of applications, my personal opinion is that the B&M parts really fits well in older civics like the EF generation.

For EG and EK, the oem DC shifter kicks butt!! :D

I just found another thread kinda of like this one and you said "Best option.....oem Integra dual bend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Feels perfect in EG and EK models!" do you still think thats true. Im not about slaming through the gears I just want something that feel nice shifting. the shifter in my civic is sloppy, real sloppy, when in gear you can slap it around like it was in neutral

thats how my shifter is in my EM1, I'm wondering do I just need to replace the bushings for a tighter shifter?

Yeah that is caused by worn bushings. I just installed some ES bushings and it has a very tight shift now. One of the best mods I have done lately.

I order a complete bushing kit from energy suspension off eBay. They sell all the bushing sets individually but I figured since I am rebuilding the entire car piece by piece, the whole kit suitted me better. I think they are less then 20 bucks for the shifter bushings kit.

^^ You could just go down to the local performance that sells energy, and pay the $18 for the shifter bushing kit like i did

I have a gsr dual bend in my sohc civic

It feels waaay shorter than stock

And I love it with the stock gsr shifter

Theres no way I would buy it for $200. I just thought it was neat. I think I'm going with the Integra shifter and get the linkage too. or hell I just got a idea ill get a short shifter and modify it to raise the height up to exactly where I want it. anybody seen a custom shifter in a civic?

my stock shift lever is fine with a spoon titanium ****. the **** nearly weighs nothing, firms up the shift feel, and u get a lot of feedback from it.

I've had a B&M, Blox, Junk2, and finally settled on a Buddy Club dual bend with an OEM aluminum ****. Absolutely love the feel and response, and the weightier **** feels more solid throwing gears.

You can buy shifter extenders!!! Couldn't tell you where to buy them though. I got gorilla arms so no need for me to have a extension.

ya i got all the bushings for my ej2 from energy suspension through autozone, takes 1 day for them to show up come with everything you would get ordering on ebay or anywhere else online, no shipping charges best deal you could hope for and if you have a hook up or commercial account they can hook you up on the price too..... that is where i am gonna get all my ej6 bushings from

Going to bump this because this is the thread that brought my interest into getting an Integra OEM shifter into my 1999 Civic, going to leave a bit of a review/help for those who might be interested too.




I've only driven 4 manual cars in my life, 2 trucks, a Scion XD and my Civic, and always considered my civic to be the one with loosest/sloppiest shifting, yet i was used to it. Took it out for a drive with the new shifter and I have to admit that it's a great little modification. The shift **** may feel more slanted than the older shifter, and the bite-points (i don't know the proper term for them) feel slightly shorter. All of the gears feel much smoother with a shorter throw as well especially 2nd-to-3rd. I haven't gotten energy suspension bushings yet though, so there may be room for improvement. It's a tiny modification that I give a thumbs up, helps when you have a paper-weight of a shift **** too.
