cost mostly, building a b20 is not cheap and i like to drive longer on a reliable motor than faster on a ticking timebomb.
i would not complain about a little more torque tho

you can make a reliable b20 vtec for next to nothing. the major cost would be that of a good engine rebuild kit. but being that you have the b16 already it would be extremely cheap.

if done right you could make close to 200 hp 160 ft/lbs with just oem parts and some arp fasteners.

just giving my $0.02.

any way this is awesome. I have always wanted an awd 4 door civic and this is motivating me to find everything I need...

great work!

thanx,

i do not understand why people gut the back to pieces when doing this, i think i did a bit overkill on it and if i had gone with the fuelcell i would be able to put the back seat in also.
why guys hack the struts to move the shokcs i do not understand, i just tilted them and it is all good, at least it has been the last 10.000 km i driven it.

My first post on here. As I was browsing the internet and came across this thread from my good friend Gunni, Than I am sorry to say that Gunni past away in March after little over one year battle with cancer. A few of his friends took his awd Civic while he was at the hospital and did allot for the Civic as Gunni was getting to weak to work on his cars. He was picked up from the hospital and he didn't know about the transformation on his car. The smile from his face is something I will never forget. Well I could talk about Gunni all night butt let's see some pics of the outcome of the Civic.

And the Jackson Racing supercarger was installed. This car is sooo fun to drive.

So sorry to hear about that. That's an awfully tough thing to handle as his circumstances hit too close to home for me. I'm glad he has good friends that surrounded him until his transition. I'm sure he's still smiling where ever he is now. Pics are blocked for me at work but I'll be sure to check it out later when I get home from work.

Sorry to hear, but I like that you guys put effort into finishing his ride. it looks nice, but why is it on the lift?

edit: mods, I feel that for the bump of this old thread can be justified because it closes out the build and shines some light on what happen to the OP. Please allow.

The reason for it's on the lift is we where waiting for the wheels to come back from powder coating and there we just finished making the front 5 lug.
