Default AutoPower rollbar install Q! NOTHING sitting flush!!

It's a 4 point bolt in roll bar. The fitment with the legs to the chasis is like crap unless the metal is going to bend or form to the car once tightened down Each of the 4 legs has huge gaps as you can see 2 from the pics:

I opted to get the bar unpainted. Do they typically arch the plates to match the wheel well / floor angle? So much for drilling for the roll bar until I get this figured out

That looks like crap. I'd get my money back on that.

Heat it up and bend it to shape. Don't expect great things when you buy a pre-fabbed roll bar.

roll bars or cages you buy will never fit perfectly.

you have to do some fab work yourself. go to town with a hammer and heat.

...And you're absolutely sure that your chassis is 100.1% perfect, and the body shop measured everything listed on the factory spec sheet? If you ever wondered why there are so many useless holes and dimples all around, thats why.

I'm sure after 15yrs, a car has changed shape a little bit, especially a unibody on an econo car. But seriously, if you can't make something fit, I don't think you should be making it into a racecar in the 1st place.

Agreed, not every car off the assembly line is gonna be exactly the same 10 15 years down the road. Do a little customizing, beat the plates down till there close, and start torquing down the bolts. Pre-fabed cages arent going to fit PERFECTLY for every car.

OP, thats pretty normal, often times when installing these roll bars/cages there has been half an inch gap from the rear legs to their mounting positions...just drill the floor holes first...stick a bolt in...drill the rears...stick a bolt in...finish drilling and tighten everything down. When tightening the bolts the floor pan will pull into place, remember to place the mounting plate on the other side.
