Any of you guys know the hot spots on Hoboken/Jersey City/Newark where cars get dumped regularly, imports in general ? I will go search everyone of them.

Damn man im so sorry I hope you and your girl find your ride. I know exactly how you feel. My eg hatch was stolen about two weeks ago Luckily i went out on my own and found it. Best of luck to you. Thieves should be shot without hesitation. Keep us updated and hopefully it will be good news.

Ave P and what ? I want to go check it out, I know its a far shot, but I cant just sit around. Do the cops come around those spots often, or do some of the cars sit there for weeks before getting towed ? My case doesnt make much sense, the car got jacked from 10-12 in a very public area, with 2 bars across the street, and alot of people still up hanging outside their house. It was parked in a tight spot, 1 1/2 inches on both sides. Plus there are about 10 hatches in way better condition, with no alarms, clubs or loud exhausts to make noise, all within a 4 block radius.

I got a call in the morning, cops said the car is at C & J's towing yard. I took off from work and went over there. When I got there I was pretty surprised. The car looked fine from the outside. No body damage, all exterior still intact. On the inside is a different story though. They swapped the Si seats for DX stock ones. Took the cluster, and swapped it with their EX one. Took the Si cd player, and all my junk speakers. The real shocker was under the hook, the LS swap is gone. But its still good they didnt take the suspension, muffler or an body panels. I have an added bonus of their green civic bumper . I'll need some panels around the steering column, a center console, and a trunk cover. Im still not sure on how to handle it with the insurance company. My boss suggested getting the car out immediatly, and telling the insurance company I want to keep the car, and not make any claims. He stated its possible they will deny me the car once its claimed at a "total loss" even if I offer to buy it. And a "total loss", would still not get me much money because I found out the car used to have a salvage title. The insurance company also never saw the car, so they wont give me full bluebook. Does anyone have any advice on this matter ? Btw, here are some pics I took. The place is not a friendly sight. Lots and lots of civics, integras, even WRX's. Alot of rice, alot of nice looking cars, its very sad.

Yea, C & J towing is quite popular for newark theft.

The mirrors are Ctr folding mirrors, not the originals though. Cheaper aftermarket versions. They are all over ebay.

Champ. white paint job n Type-R motor here I come!!! Yeah, after I make a couple of bucks working a billion hours. Did you have full coverage? If not just get the car out of there asap, yes it will have a salvage title but if you plan on building it again for your personal use, then its worth it.

If you did have full coverage, take what you want off it at C&Js (you can do that) and consider it a loss. The insurance company will give you what they think is resonable for the stock value of the car.

Why did they go through the trouble of replacing everything with their old ****? LOL sounds like some nice theives to me. Your lucky they left you with replacement parts. Sorry about your loss....

The thieves were pretty strange. Taking some things, then reinstalling others. They made a dumb move by not taking the engine and tranny reciept I had in the car. They would have had a legit swap, and I know they looked at it too. As for the insurance thing, we desided not to leave the car at C & J any longer. This morning I towed the car using AAA (cost me peanuts) to the shop where I work. The boss knows how to handle the insurance company adjuster people. Hopefully they will give me enough to start rebuilding her, and this time the car is not going out without my upcoming security arsenal. You wont be able to touch, or move the car without me knowing it. I thik the car will just be too much of a hassle to steal, which is exactly what Im after. Btw, when I was at C & J today, I took some pics, even though they had signs every 5 feet prohibiting any camera use. Alot of nice stolen cars there.
