First of all, this is the EG/EK forum, WRONG place to talk just about Oil.

Second of all, Eran, it IS possible with AMSoil to run your motor 25k miles, but you change the filter at 12.5K. I HAVE DONE IT on my d16y7. I am now at 128k, she is fine.

Third of all, yes it does outperform Mobil1.

AMSOIL has one downfall, and that is Mobil1 is at every WalMart, and Amsoil isnt as common.

BlackDeuceCoupe mentioned that Ams oil contained a lot of Zinc? Has anybody else heard this? And wouldnt you be able to change your oil filter at 25k also, as long as its an Ams oil?

I ran this stuff for about 10k on my si. I would feel confident going 20k on it. Good stuff. But I run mobil1 and a honda oem filter since my mobil is free.

The reason Amsoil is not at every Walmart is because they chosed to protect their dealers. Believe me Walmart has already approached them on the issue.

Amsoil was started by an old guy with tradtional values. He wanted to protect the dealers because it was the dealers that help made Amsoil grow to what it is today.
Amsoil's current policy is that if you have more than 12 stores nationwide you cannot carry Amsoil. The last retail chain store that was able to obtain Amsoil before this was in effect is Mills Fleet Farm. But Mills only can carry & stock the lower XL line series as part of the agreement.
