all motor d16z6 build thread!
i been debateing on what to do with my car and well i just decided im gunna build my d series up and maybe do a lil nitrious on it. im not tryn to meet a hp goal but i just want a reliable car that is sleeper. im lookn at the stage 3 bisi cam, with a adj cam gear of some sort. D16Z6 Spring and titanium retainer kit, D16Z6, Y8, Y7, A6, 76mm 11:1 compression for pistons. stayn with stock z6 im, might do a ls tb, and idk about injectors yet.fuel pump will be a walbro 225 with a adj fpr. i have a ebay header with 2.25 exhaust gutted cat, into a dc sport muffler, injen cai. this right now is just a idea of what i was wanting to do if i need something or need to do something different let me know. thanks james will be doin some more research and stuff like that. i do have this in the all motor forum but no luck there really. If your gonna put all that money into the engine it would be kinda stupid not to do it 100% I would either get ur intake ported or get a skunk2...as for exhaust look into a better header. Like bisimoto they have some pretty good numbers from theirs... or maybe try and get a ebay bisi header for alittle cheaper...definently s300 and a dyno tune not tryin to rag on you... but if ur gettin that big of a cam it would only make sense to make sure its breathing good just my $.02

Also if you don't spray it you don't need to worry about aftermarket pistons or rods... use stock rods and p29 pistons out of a jdm zc... u can get both off ebay very cheap... stock rods are perfect for dseries allmotor

Sry to say this, but you will not break 160whp with that set-up. D series need to be swapped out, or boosted IMO to make decent power. There is nothing wrong with boosting a stock internal D16. I had a JRSC on my Y8 (methanol injected too) and ran it for 40k before swapping the motor. It was extremely fun to drive.
Edit - The y8 was swapped out for a H22, nothing was wrong with the y8 and I ended up selling it off to someone locally.

With the p29s ull probably be alittle over 12:1 comp... Idk about bisi but I wouldn't buy their cam cuz they are pretty pricey id rather get a zex cam or crowler.. their header so far is the best dseries header you can get.... u can get p29s brand new from nippon pistons if you wanna try and get alittle more out of it. Maybe get your head ported but not polished

I don't see hate in my post. Where did I come out and attack him about this? Just trying to make sure he is aware that he will spend a good amount of money that could go into something else. You will most likely be on par with a B16 with that work and money he is describing. Ask me how I know
It is not hating if I have already been down that path.....
The money (IMO) could go into a GSR swap or something like that, boosting power, making the car more fun, while retaining OEM reliability.
OP, good luck with w/e path you choose. If you end up building the D series like you are mentioning, please let us know the final result of it all.

Different is not always better..people are swapping those engines out for a reason lol..
Personally, I would run low boost, but you seem to hard set on building your d.
Financially, it really doesn't make sense.

What's so different about an all-motor D-series? People are doing it all the time. Check the All-Motor forum if you need questions answered or ideas/motivation. Not many on this forum are discovering anything new or breaking any new ground. Get over that. The words "Civic" and "different" are an oxymoron.

Make sure you remove the power steering and air conditioning too. That's the key to being fast is removing 150 lbs of usable equipment to gain 10 hp. If that's not good enough take out your back seat and while your at it the passenger seat. And the radio, and the carpet, and go on a diet of ramen and water. Then you'll be quick as hell.

i know everyone wants to do their own thing but seriously, you can swap in a stock ls with a b16 trans and it will be 100% reliable and run all over whatever you do to the d16. save yourself time and headaches and just swap it
