Adding a resonator to the exhaust system

Adding a resonator to the exhaust system
Well after a long straight 5 hour drive in my car, I've grown deadly sickened from the droning of my exhaust. My exhaust system consist of a 4-2-1 header, stock cat, and 2.25" piping and ending with some cheap turbo style muffler that came with the car. I guess driving a hatchback adds to the droning. Anyhow, would adding a resonator dramatically reduce the droning and loudness? I'm also thinking of replacing the muffler with an imitation twin loop to help reduce the noise level.

Re: Adding a resonator to the exhaust system (Cuong-nutz)
Yes, they help a ton, My setup is as follows,
Aem CAI
4/2/1 header
No cat
2.25 piping
2 12" reso's
Spoon N1 and 5zigen Fireball rearsection exhaust switch between the two.
They both are barely louder than stock. Before I put the reso's on, it was extremely loud. I couldn't stand it.

The longer the better.
I dont think 2 smaller ones would make up for it since the waves would be disturbed twice instead of just once, continuously.
A different muffler really helped me out, btw

Re: (Top-Fuel)
They're like M-80s, but in a ball shape. You put them in your exhaust pipping and they cut down on the drone.
Well, maybe not...they're old-school resonators that you see at auto parts stores. They're painted red and are really loud.
