Great info!
The problem I am having with my 92 Si that has a CEL is that when we jump the plug to get the codes to flash on the CEL... it only barely flashes. very dim and very quick and makes if very difficult to see and count. We have tried to induce codes by removing different sensors but it still won't flash normally (bright and able to count the flashes). My CEL comes on after 3-4 minutes of driving. I turn the car off and re-start it and the CEL reappears in 5 seconds... it just won't flash normally when we test it. The car seems to not have any performance loss so far. Any ideas on what might be happening? Is my ecu fried?

Re: (vancoland)
I have a modified 2000 Si. I am trying to pass the emissions inspection here in Atlanta, GA and it is a biotch! I have the AEM EMS which is not OBD-2 compliant. I have 550 cc injectors that I am switching out to the 310 cc that Greddy provides for its turbo setup. I have put the P2T stock ECu back in and the car is not starting. I know the stock injectors are 210 cc and 310 cc is not much bigger. Anyone else having these problems or is even a correct thread to even look at? I have until mid June to pass. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not throwing any codes when I install the stock P2T in. Thanks!

Maybe when they were still using rollers for OBD2 but that idea ain't gonna fly where the emmissions station has to hook up the OBD2 scanner.

Re: [FAQ] ECU thread. Codes, wiring pinouts and more. New and Improved Ecu thread :) (JDMlyfestyle)
im new and need some help recently my Civic started acting funny it would run for a while just fine then it would sputter for a little bit. About 15 seconds after that it would stop sputtering and the CEL would come on. turn it off, start it up and runs fine, for about 2 minutes then it all happens again. now my CEL is on constantly and the car wont go above 3400 rpm. it is a 1991 Civic DX Dual Point Injection. now I checked the blinking LED and there are 4 codes 1,4,8,10 all of them are short flashes can someone help me out, also i advanced my timing with the distributor, does that have anything to do with it. Thanks for the help.

OK.. I am not much of a car guy, but I have a 99 Civic EX and was looking to find out why my CEL was on..... so I came across this, but it appears to be for other years.
Is there a way to do the same thing on my Civic to read the ECU code?! There isn't a Auto Zone around here and I don't wanna pay a mechanic $80 to count a blinking light......
Thanks y'all!

Umm the plug is down by your ECU. i was in a coupe and his was located by the firewall behind the ECU.

Your Vtec pressure valve.
are you low on oil?
are you engaging in Vtec?
Have you recently installed a Vtec controller
or do you have a vtec controller?
what ecu are you running?

was wondering
the odb2 LS has a 2 wire crank angle sensor. im swaping the LS into my 92 CX and the CX harness doesnt have the connectors,or the snesor,so i have to splice it in myself. which of the 2 wires is the signal wire and which is the input wire? one wire is blue with a red strip and the other is white with a red strip. thanks

Re: (JDMlyfestyle)
yeah i just installed mine and thats when the problem started happening, the rpm wouldn't go past 6500 or around there when i was racing/ or getting to higher rpm but, then later it would be fine it was crazy thought it might have been ignition replaced the plug wires and plugs and then it was fine until today just driving out of vtec it came on, i have a stock OBD 2
