I have a 99 civic hatch Dx with a obd-1 Gsr obd-1 dizzy and obd-1 p28 hondada. S300
And my tach was working fine then my dizzy want out so I got a new obd-1 dizzy
Now when I start my car the tach will jump at 1st then just go back to 0 rpms

Re: 99 civic tack not work
Probably shorted something with that last distributor malfunction.
IIRC, there's a blue signal wire from the distributor for the tach.
Here are the rest of the OBD1 Distributor pdfs (post by HONDAPARTSMANMIKE)

Re: 99 civic tack not work
The 99-00 doesn't have the tach wiring at the distributor, you'll have to manually add it from the drivers side tach signal wire.
This wire
To here (single blue wire)

So I just need to run the blue wire from the dizzy to the back of the Gage cluster
Because it goes to Nothing
Because it goes to Nothing

Yeah that's weird because before the distributor went out it works fine
But now with the new distributor it doesn't work

So I can run the blue wire from the distributor to the single wire on the driver side engine harness in the picture

Re: 99 civic tack not work
Then put a new Distributor on and now it doesn't work
And the only wiring I had to do was on the 99 Civic harness was the small single Distributor plug That will plug right into a OBD-1 big plug and you have to take one wire off and hook it to the Second two wire plug off the distributor so that. Leaves the blue wire from the two wire plug on the distributor going to nothing

Re: 99 civic tack not work
Yeah something fishy is going on because I hooked my laptop up real quick and it's reading rpm in the laptop but just not at the tach

Well thank you all for your time I ran the blue wire from the distributor to the single blue wire on the driver side strut and now the tach works

Re: 99 civic tack not work
^ hey man sorry to bring this back from the dead didnt want to make a new thread...
i have a p28 with s300 it was turbod before but now its just back to a normal gsr map but ive also replaced my dizzy it went from a td87u to a td84u on a 00 gsr integra, except this time my tach doesnt work... was wondering if i could run 2 splices and a wire across with 2 connectors?
both of these are obd2 dizzys i dont understand why my tach would stop working all of a sudden
the ecu is from hondata so it has the obd2b jumper also integrated
