Default 99-00 Si ECU for Type R swap?

Will a 99-00 Si Ecu work for the C5 swap? Just to bypass that IMM feature.

Yes it will work.... a B16A and a B18C5 are pretty close as in interchangeable parts...

I think the 00 ecu will have the IMM. Jap ECUs don't have IMM, go OBD1, you'll never regret it.

I'm pretty sure the 00 doesnt have the IMM. Are the Type R and Si both OBDII? I think so, just making sure.

Well my car is OBD1 right now. I can just keep it OBD1, get the conversion harness for the ecu, and wire up the vtec, and keep it the OBD1.

Isn't it illegal in CA to downgrade from OBD2 to OBD1? J/W

Yep. It won't pass smog at a reputable shop.

If your car is already OBD1, just get an OBD1 ecu chipped with a ITR program. I don't understand what you were saying, you mean get a conversion harness to plug your OBD2 ecu into your OBD1 chassis wiring harness? The occasions that people do this are very rare, basically i've only heard of it for being wanting to run AEM EMS.

use the 99-00 Si ecu to pass emissions

if you remove the immobilizer for an OBD-II ITR swap you will get a constant check engine light...any CEL's and you don't pass I believe...

The 99-00 Si ecu harness should plug right into the OBD2 ecu right?

It will run, but like complete ****. Good luck getting vtec to engage. When i swapped my b16 for my itr motor we tryed using my si ecu and it would turn over and run but it would hit rev at 56k. Perhaps there was an error on my part with the wiring but id ask someone for sure before you go and do this. If it works more power to ya. Oh and my car runs amazing to this day so i dont think i messed up with the wiring or anything. (HUGE NOTE!! My motor is jdm which could have a lot to do with it!!)

I am running my p2t on the 00 USDM itr shortblock i bought from Acura. Runs great. The Civics do not have immobilizers in 99-00. Unfortunely the itrs did.

My buddy has a 2000 ITR. He needs a new ECU because he sent it out to have it chipped and they messed it up. From what I'm reading, he can use the Si ECU as a temp?

Are you sure about that? I thought the Si is OBD2A and the ITR is OBD2B. Different style connectors.
