98 civic LX Automatic transmission and Engine swap
Good morning guys. I am writing because after doing an engine swap after a blown head gasket on my 1998 civic LX I am getting 4 codes reading out that I was not getting before swapping the motor. I have P1362 no TDC sensor output, P0155 Bank 2 sensor 1, P0135 Bank 1 sensor 1, and P0705 Transmission range circuit malfunction. I am wondering if this is because I could have done something wrong or maybe because I used a D16Y4 block but swapped all of the stuff from the D16Y7 that was originally on it including the crank timing pulley and sensor. Or of all this stuff is really bad. It runs perfect not in limp mode or any signs that there is something wrong besides the CEL. I have cleared the codes but they come back instantly after starting the engine. Seems with all these codes that would cause rough running there would be some sign of the engine not running properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P1362: Unplug the distributor connector and then reconnect. Verify that connector is full seated.
P0135: Check whether fuse 15 is blown.
P0705: Did you mean P0715?

No I meant P0705. And what would my distributor have to do with the P1362. The Crank sensor is down on the timing pulley and plugs into its own harness on the opposite side of the motor.

Check again. This^ CEL code is not listed in the Honda factory manual. The same is true for P0155.
The TDC sensor is located inside the distributor.
This^ is not the TDC sensor. It's called the CKF sensor.
And what would my distributor have to do with the P1362.

Your code reader is displaying incorrect code numbers, possibly because it is outdated.
For example, P0155 is likely the equivalent of P0141, and P0705 is likely the equivalent of P0715.
You can verify by shorting the service connector and writing down the code numbers that blink from the cluster CEL and the D4 lights.

I get what you are saying about the TDC sensor now. I have read that it is different in the D16Y7 than in the Y4 is this correct? I am totally naive so I am open to any information. If the problem is not corrected with re-seating the plug does this mean I have to get a new distributor?

What would make you the code reader is outdated. I bought it less than a year ago and the car hasn't had an update on codes since I would say oh 1998. Can you show me the manual describing the codes? Are you looking at codes for a Y4 ECU or a Y7 ECU?

All information that I have provided comes the the 96-00 Honda Civic factory manual (relevant to the Y7 engine and ECU). If you want to identify the Honda Civic equivalents of P0155 and P0705, then jump the service connector as I mentioned earlier.
Most likely:
P0155 = P0141
P0705 = P0715

CEL = check engine light in cluster (engine codes)
D4 = drive gear position indicator light in cluster (auto transmission codes)
The 2-pin service connector is located above the ECU.
With the key OFF, short the 2 pins of the service connector with a paperclip.
Turn key to ON(II).
The CEL will blink codes where a long blink = 10 and a short blink = 1. For example, CEL code 65 would be six long blinks followed by 5 short blinks. Code 65 = P0141
The D4 will blink codes in the same way that the CEL does. For example, D4 code 15 would be 1 long blink followed by 5 short blinks. Code 15 = P0715

The engine codes blink from the CEL.
The auto transmission codes blink from the D4 light.
As your ECU has stored both types of codes, the CEL and D4 will blink simultaneously.

OK I will check it and then post the results. I am mostly confused because it is running perfectly. I did re-seat the distributor connector and it didn't change anything. I am wondering if the ECU needs to be reset after the swap or from being disconnected from the battery for so long. It sat for about 6 months with no battery or engine in the car.

Disconnecting the battery for 5-10 minutes would reset the ECU. You also mentioned clearing the codes and their returning thereafter, so the codes are likely real.

Ok so I have 41 and 8 the transmission is not throwing any codes onto the D4 light. I tried to do it with it in D4 and also when it is in P. Could this be caused by a light being out in the cluster? I did switch it with D1 because I wasn't getting any light when putting it in gear. now D1 doesn't work but D4 light does.

CEL code 8 = P1359 or P1361 (TDC sensor code confirmed)
CEL code 41 = P0135 (primary O2 sensor heater code confirmed)
