Default 98 Civic Door Locks

So Ive been reading everything i can find about the door locks

i keep reading this the dome light wont work if the stock radio isn't there, well i have a Aftermarket Radio (Pioneer DEH-6400BT) and my dome light still works fine, only thing my power locks never worked (i don't have a key fob)

i still need to check if the actuators are good i think they are but ill check,

i noticed that my stock radio is different.

i have 3 cables 2 wide 1 skinny.

1st wide one radio
2nd wide wasn't plugged in and radio doesn't have a spot
3rd skinny IDK what that does.

can some one explain Please ?

i know i probably have to put my stock radio in my dash or buy a new stock one cause i think i need that other wide plug no ?

At the rear of the radio, connector A is for the radio itself whereas connector B is for the keyless lock system.

However, the power lock system does not depend on the keyless lock system. Are you saying that the power locks don't work at all? Give more details.

Yeah, the switch on my drivers door doesn't work at all, apparently it randomly stopped working awhile back.

i wanna have a key-less entry system so im wondering if i should just a get a stock radio that has the plug and put in the back of the dash buy a key fob or buy an aftermarket system and an alarm system ?

If you want keyless, then you first must get the power locks working. Test the simple stuff first -- the lock fuse 51 and the switch.

Getting a stock radio with keyless or the other options will work. You just need to decide.

fuses are all good i replaced all of them when i got the car.

my radio doesn't have that "B" connector, my second connector is a 5 pin skinny green one,

i can manually lock all the doors, all the fuses are brand new, wires all look fine. ill check with a volt meter tomorrow at work, but i think its either my module or maybe a few of the actuators which isn't to hard to get new. but id like a check list like ("A", "B" and "c" and if they don't work u need "D" )kinda of thing

what should i check to see how to fix it ?

After you replace a fuse, it can blow immediately. Voltage test fuse 51 on both top test tabs.

Don't guess what the problem might be. Do electrical tests to know what the problem actually is.

There's no test for the control unit. If all else test fine, then replace it.

You'll find a diagram for input tests in the FAQs sticky.
