got a 97 civic dx with an OBD2 D15B3-STAGE VTEC..EX wire harness and a P2J-J62 ECU..did not do enough research and bolted it to my USDM 4-speed auto transmission..yeah i know the euc does not operate the transmission well..so i also know there is no ecu that will work with this application..so now i want a CVT Multimatic transmission cause that is the ecu i have..i just want to know if there is a USDM CVT Multimatic transmission i can use..will the HX C4VA CVT Multimatic tranny work..i see alot of them on EBAY..will the ecu recognize this tranny and will it bolt in..please no advice on chipping different ecu's or how i should put in a five speed.. just let me know what tranny i need to make this work..thanx for any help..

HX tranny *should* work with the P2J ECU, they were a pretty craptastic tranny though, and expensive. The mounting points are different btw so you'll have to deal with that. Also the wiring is significantly different. The HX CVT tranny uses a seperate TCM that requires about 40 wires be run to various places, some go to the tranny, some to the ECU, some to the engine.

Realistically you aren't going to be able to make this work with an automatic. You can either swap in a 5 speed and get the corresponding 5 speed ECU, or you can run a Y8 ECU and set the engine up like a Y8 so it doesn't run in the 12 valve economy mode.
